Introduction - A Hi from Cecil to you. >.>

So yeah, hello and good evening/morning to you all. I am "Lord Misfit", also known to some as "Cecil" at the Starmen.net forums. I also once known... as "Tengu Man", an extremely infamous alias/group of aliases I used as a bratty, rambunctous 13-16 year old teenager. You might be reading Baron Von Awesome's [aka guruzeth] Annotations of "The Gathering", one of the first extremely popular IF stories on Starmen.net/Earthbound.net history. If so, you'll hear a ton about my past-self's annoying tendacies from that alone. I need not explain them in detail here. :P



As I just mentioned above, I was part of that under the "Tengu" aliases, and I've left some comments as of now on that blog and will continue to do so, but his annotation idea has inspired the possibility of me annotating my own IF, one which I participated in under the "Cecil" alias.



However do note my annotating style won't be so much directed towards major humor or poking a lot of fun at myself or others as it will be giving plain information ["Cecil" is a far cry from the "Tengu" names of the past and my writing style and maturity were improved from the former names for this IF], though humorous input will be added at times. You'll see some footnotes about stuff, and well... you get the picture. >.>;



Also, if possible, I might try to gather other former posters of this IF to the blog to ask for their own personal inputs on this, including possibly DrAndonuts himself.





As for Frozen itself. It was developed starting in June of 2002 by a user by the name of "DrAndonuts", who might or might not be the same as "Dr.Andonuts" in The Gathering. I'm not 100% sure at this point. However some writers from "Gathering" such as SuperSpeedy, myself, and I think Mog116[if "Greatest Mog on Earth" was his new name in 2002, anyways], and many other old IFers who were not part of "Gathering", including my good friends Zero X. Diamond, and TheSeriousCacodemon, were also part of it.



This was actually the SECOND attempt at Frozen, not the original version, which I vaugely remember, because of Ragnar [a villian-equse character created by fusing Ness, Jeff and Poo into a single being, Cell-style o.o], and the central premise of the story, which is also the same central premise of this version of Frozen. However due to the different group of writers compared to the original story, it took a different path from the original. However it was an extremely pivotal IF for myself and Zero X. Diamond, as it allowed each of us to give one of our ACs of little past-use a good chance to shine a bit again.



Although the story DOES start off as an AC fest [you'll see why in the first few posts], we do generally try to give the EB characters in general and their locales a chance to make big differences in the IF. This IF didn't have rampant amounts of "AC God Mode", as some, including Baron von Awesome called it, although there were times we had to reign it under control for special cases.



But in general the story didn't go all over into 25 different tangents all at once with a tangled mess left in their wakes. I like to think DrAndonuts, ZXD, Cacodemon, myself, etc helped keep order to a degree here. Note I was never an IF moderater at any point on SM.net/EB.net's forums [and looking back on it, thank the gods I wasn't as "Tengu Man", or I'd like have ended up wrecking Hell abroad even without trying], so DrAndonuts was the true, final authority on the IF aside from the standing moderators of the IF forum at the time.



So hopefully you'll enjoy this annotation, or at least be enlightened by it. Don't expect me to be as humorous as Baron von Awesome and his annotations for "The Gathering", as I'm not as great at the general humor angle as he is. :\



Also, I'm a busy person with various projects and having just 'upgraded' to a stronger, better computer of which I'm still reinstalling occasional things to, so I can't give you a solid indication to post frequency. Also, this IF never finished. It kinda died in 2003 after a slow-down period. Additionally, the copy I have of the IF has no time-stamps, aside from post-edits, and it also doesn't have a post count, so I don't know when I'll reach the abrupt end of this.

So without further ado, welcome to "A Frozen Annotation"! XD


QUICK UPDATE [1/27/10]: Just letting you know I haven't forgotten about this. I just haven't had time to post lately with my projects, as I mentioned above, so I don't know when the next updates will be. :P

Yet another update [6/3/11]: I know it's been forever since anything major has updated on this and I deeply apologize. I was actually going over the Annotated Gathering from start to finish so far again and got reminded of this and decided I would return to let you know I do still plan sometime to continue this forward.

It's just I've recently upgraded to yet another, TRULY NEW computer [as the one in the previous part above was more of a hand-me-down type of upgrade, and the spectrum of gaming I'm opened up to now is much more than I'm used to.

Also, real life has become much more prominent for me these past couple years than probably in the 9-10 years before those two years, for reasons I won't go into here. Later for now. @_@
