[Time for a brand new member of the IF, otokonoko, or as he was called in past IF stories, System Virus, or "Virus". I will reference him by System Virus in these posts. "otokonoko" is japanese for "boy", btw.]

-- End of Time --
A man was watching as Brett sacrificed himself to try to save the group. He watched as the misty woman still survived, and he watched as Brett died in Zac's arms. A guttural scream of anger arose, and he felt compelled to do something.

[Now, back during the actual time of the IF's run, Virus's entry into the story was a subject of contreversy, as Dr. Andonuts specfically had the rule that ACs could not enter the story with fully predetermined knowledge of the situation at hand. Virus's first post kinda broke that rule a bit, such as the thing with him being in the "End of Time". I don't actually remember much if anything about Virus's history, but it felt like a bit of a cop-out to me and ZXD back then, and ZXD will later on make that clear on his own accord. >.>]

But, then, he assessed the situation. His only magical attacks were fire, and as the mist absorbed heat, this would only empower her. His gunblade skills were a little rusty, and even then he would probably just freeze his hands off or miss.

[As opposed to Bob who seems to have a comicial like means of bouncing back from his injuries, that or Crypha is knowing holding herself back to avoid killing him. It could be that too. o.o]

So, he decided to absorb some of the elemental forces that held the end of time together. He learned some spells from every category of magic, and then he smirked as the crimson scar across his left eye glowed a lighter red, and, focusing his energy once more, he disappeared to help his friends in the battle to save Earth.

[Yeah, he pulls a pretty sizable deus ex machina to get in. I'm not sure if he had fully took the time to read over or not, or had only been keeping up with recent event and all.]

-- Three-Four Tunnel --
Zac was still sobbing lightly when he felt a new signal somewhere in the distance. Suddenly, the signal was right behind that... witch ... and he recognized the newcomer right away. Virus?!?

[That all being said... Virus and Dr.Andonuts did know each other pretty well and worked together in previous IFs, so it wasn't like Virus was a newbie or an outcast. :P]

"Perhaps, it is time that we finished this." A massive build-up of Wind elemental began building around Virus, and it was just about ready to strike when...

[Yeah, I'm assuming he did read up on the whole pressure 'weakness' Pikabot mentioned for Crypha, but to be honest, I'm not sure if Crypha became less weak to it after her 'shocking encounter' with Penguin's ACs or not. <.<]

Bob was meadowlarking* behind the front side of the tunnel. He was watching and listening to what was going on. It did not sound too good for him.

[Well yeah... I mean, one of your allies just freakin' DIED over there. >_<]

"Oh crap, oh crap, oh crap, oh crap on a crap cracker." he whispered to himself, sweat forming on his brow. "This girl is nothing but trouble. And she wants to extract that trouble on me. Oh man... oh man..."

What could he do to defend himself? He had no special abilities. No "PK Fiya." No "PK Thunda." Not even "PK Dustbunny." (Not like "PK Dustbunny" would even help him at all.

[You never know, it depends on how convoluted the maker of 'PK Dustbunny' makes the ability. But yeah, again ZXD highlights the central shortcoming of Bob in his lack of mystical abilities. :P]

He had to get her away from them. He had to do this for the sake of the human race. So what if he could lose his life. It was for the sake of the people from which Sandra was spawned. He took a flying leap out into the street.

[And the people from who spawned YOU I might remind you, young man. :P]

"HEY! OVER HERE!" he shouted, flailing his wiry arms about.

"Huh...?" gasped Crypha, turning to face him.

Her eyes lit up with a childlike glee once more. She skipped over to Bob. He shivered a little, mostly from the cold, but he was actually a little frightened. After all, you'd be scared too if you were defenseless against a powerful creature.

[Bob has balls, let's not lie. He's already been nailed by Crypha once, and survived. :P]

"Uh... hello."

"Hi!" she giggled. "Can I have a big hug?"

["I seem to have this itch to freeze you in ice for eternity." ^_^]

"Oh no, not agai-"

But it was too late. She wrapped her arms around Bob. You could almost hear him yelling through the electrical zapping.

"Ow."

["Ow." That sounds a lot more monotonous than it does like yelling. XD]

More zapping could be heard.

"... ow..."

It was getting quite monotonous now.

"... ... ow ..."

[Looks like that was the idea ZXD was going for from the start, doh. :P]

She giggled, looking at Bob twitch a bit before falling face first onto the ground.

"I like you. You're funny. Gimme another hug."

Bob held out his arms, yelling in defense.

[Damn, he recovered faster than normal. Maybe his endurance is superhuman after all. :P]

"Nonononononononnoononoonononoono! Wait! Look at what I can do!" he said.

He stood in line with the tunnel and the sun and held out his hands. He looked back at Crypha, surprised to see she was watching attentively.

[LOL nice, shadow-puppets. Let's see what happens. XD]

Finally he exclaimed with joy, "Uh... wait... hmm... aha! Look, it's a doggie!"

Crypha was amazed.

"Wow! That's cool! How'd you do that?"

[Wow, she really IS like a little girl around Bob. o.O]

"That's something we may never know."

All the while the remainder of the group was watching wide-eyed from the other end of the bridge. They didn't know whether to attack or to leave them be.

(* Meadowlarking is my word for hanging around in secrecy, usually to watch a struggle, but avoid getting caught up in it.)

(** I'd also like to note that her sudden change of personality is due to an imbalance. She's erratic near others, but Bob has charmed her for some silly reason.)

[Yes, this is basically where Bob staked a claim on Crypha as his second AC. Although they're not fully out of the woods yet, this is where Crypha became one of us. :P]

Posted by DrAndounts (Member # 168) on :

[Oooooooh boooy.... THIS post... this one is actually a critically important one, but coming from the IF creator himself, it would make the most sense. I'll go over this in more detail over time...]

Little did anyone realize that, with the electrical attacks from the Digimon, the mist that was Crypha still floated nearby. The group headed back to the complex, unaware that Crypha was still alive, only in a gaseous state. She regrouped at the far end of the bridge and reformed her icy body. Electrical sparks now raced around and through her body.

[Uh, yeah... did you REALLLLLLY think she would go down that easily, folks? :P

Also, she now seems to adapt electricity as a strong point in her elemental defenses, and is also now able to use it in some for or another. PlasmaPenguin actually made things worse, although you can't really fault him considering mist is a strong conductant and if fire didn't work, then electricity would seem to be an alternative.]

Most of the group had followed Zac back to the complex. Brett had broght up the rear and kinda fell behind, since he knew his way back. A signal shot through Brett's mind as Crypha reformed. "She's not done yet...!" He turned around and looked through the Three-Four tunnel. His shock was noticed by the cold beauty and the two met on the bridge again.

"Not that easy, did you think I would that be easy to beat?" For some reason, her speech was slightly irregular.

[I assume the irregularity is her unbalanced mental state, in addition to having just recovered from a deadly lightning attack by a possible fluke. o.o]

"Not really." Brett tensed up, not sure as how he should react to her. She stepped towards him, ice forming on the bridge as she stepped onto the asphalt. Brett stepped back, trying to keep a good distance from her.

"You afraid of me?" Her speech had returned to normal.

[Oh dear... she sound like she's about to kill... O_O]

"Just... a little cautious," Brett was ready to slide into a fighting stance. Just then, she disappeared.

"Who was that weak fighter here earlier?" She was now behind Brett, leaning over his right shoulder and whispered in his right ear. She was gone as soon as Brett turned around. "So, do you know who I'm talking about?" Brett whipped back around and she was back to where she was earlier.

[Holy schisse... that is SPEED there, considering Brett's no slouch in speed himself. @_@ Though I have to think her newly found electrical nature is a good deal responsible for her speed boost.]

"You mean Bob...?" Brett said, not sure as to whom she was referring.

"Bob... do you know much about him?"

[Why the hell do you have a fascination with hurting poor Bob? :(]

"Not really."

"Where is he now?" She now became slightly more annoyed with Brett.

"I'm not sure..."

"Liar!" she snapped, charging towards Brett. Quickly, he had to transform into a Super Saiyan to avoid being frozen in place by her icy touch.

[Okay, maybe she's not as fast as I gave her credit for. :P]

"That was close..." Brett wiped his forehead with his left hand.

"But still not good enough," she said from right behind him.

[Crapbiscuits... I spoke too soon ._.]

--- Back at the complex ---

"I wonder where Brett is," Glenn mentioned. "Zac, where's your brother?"

He thought for a moment. "I dunno. I thought he brought up the rear. I'll go get him." Zac stepped outside and retrached their path.

[The hell Zac? You can sense energy like Brett, how did Crypha's power NOT register for you? >.<]

--- On the Three-Four Bridge ---

Brett was trying hard to stay ahead of Crypha, but it wasn't looking too good. She, on a few attempts, almost had Brett.

I need to stop her for a moment or two... he thought. "Ionic Cannon!" He threw an electrical orb behind him. Greedily, she absorbed the attack, but was shocked to find that she couldn't move that well. "I thought you still might be paralyzed by that attack."

[Well, she's already at full health anyways I'd assume, so no harm no foul. >.>]

She was at one end of the bridge and Brett flew to the other. Once there, he faced Crypha and placed the heels of his hands together. Suddenly, his power started to shoot up exponentially.

"Since it looks like you'll win soon, I thought it best if I take you out as I take myself out." A faint, whispy yellow orb started to form. After a little bit, bolts of energy shot from the growing energy attack.

[Um... Brett, what ARE you doing...? o.o]

"What the- What is Brett doing...?" Zac whispered to himself as he neared his brother. It then hit him. "NO! He's gotta stop!" Transforming, he used the speed to quickly cover the ground between him and Brett.

[OSHI- things just got serious. @_@]

"I'm putting a stop to you before you cause any harm to any of them." The attack was ready. The effects of the paralysis wore off and she flew straight towards Brett.

"Final Fate!" Brett shouted. A huge beam flew forth from Brett's hands towards its target.

"Brett, NO!" Zac called out, but too late as Brett fired the attack. The attack struck dead on, causing a huge explosion that threw Zac into the water, as he was unprepared for the blast. He surfaced and jumped out of the water. As the smoke cleared, Crypha was still floating, but Brett was not. His body was on the bridge, and he was forced out of his transformed state. Zac landed next to his brother.

[Oh crap, that's not good... if a Saiya-jin is knocked from their Super state, either they're knocked unconscious... or... :o]

"Zac..." Brett coughed. "I wasn't... ready for her... I thought this was the only... way..."

"You didn't need to attack her by yourself you know," Zac said, holding back tears. "You could've-"

"No... since the lightning attacks..." Brett coughed a little. "She's changed... she's stronger than she was... She-" Brett started to hack violently, until his body became limp.

[...... oh dear.... ;_;]

"No... no... NO!!!" Zac shouted, powering up in anger and sadness. He glared up at the seemingly innocent woman just floating there, smirking. He mouthed a few words to her and took off back to the complex, alone.

[DUN DUNN DUNN... yeah... it actually happened here. You're not imagining things. Brett really did just die from using his desperation attack on Crypha, and sadly it did not do the job. :\

And yes, I suppose I also should just flat say it, Crypha is techincally about to become an AC herself. You'll see why in the next couple of posts, but yes. Brett is DEAD. An AC actually freakin' dies in this IF. The stakes just skyrocketed...]

[Actually, what I had in mind for Crypha's death is either getting torn apart by High-Powered-Suction or being forced into a river or pond or something, which would cause the water to freeze around her. But your way works too.]

[Meh, that's what happens in IF a lot. You don't always have things accomplished quite the way you originally planned for them to... you'll see what I mean soon. :P]

Adure watched interestedly as the Captain Berated the crewman known as Nole. The rest of the crew watched, internally pitying Nole. Nole went back to sit down, and began whispering to people beside him. Adure couldn't hear, but he had been a ships captain long enough to guess.

Mutiny.

[Oh yes... sweet and delicious mutiny... oh sorry... just my like for complex plot points on both sides of the conflect. :P]

Adure shook his head. The captain, by berating Nole, had managed to create a general sense of sympathy for him. And Now Nole was rising against him. Adure smiled. This is going to be interesting....

[You have NO IDEA just how interesting it does become Adure, but unfortunately you might not come to like it soon enough. >_>]
