Nole's quivering hand soon met with a minibar door. It soon opened
after applying a great amount of force. He quickly reached for the nearest
beverage, which happened to be a bottle of jynnan tonnyx.
[Oh geez, more jynnyan tonnyx references. Will wonders ever cease? :P]
He popped the bottle
top off and poured it into a glass. The nervous shaking caused most of it to end
up in his lap, but he didn't seem to notice at the moment.
"What... is
this... tremendous feeling? Overcoming... rational... thought!"
["...drama... overloading... stupidity... increasing!" >.>]
He
decided he'd sit down for a while and try to sort things out.
[You do that, buddy, you go do that... :P]
Meanwhile,
Bob was having quite a time on his motorcycle, following Zac and his party.
Without warning, something hard zipped into his face. Something small and hard.
[Probably just a fly or some stupid insect. >.>]
He thought it to most likely be an insect. And this wasn't far from the truth.
Rather, it was a small metal bug used for one thing only: discovering the truth
about enemies from their past. A memory scanner.
[Ah, so now it's Bob's turn to get his mind probed. :P]
Nole suddenly jolted up
from where he sat. What remained of his jynnan tonnyx ended up all over his
pants.
[Geez man, take it friggin easy, you tool. >.>]
"What? Another memory is being scanned already? Hmm... the
information screen says the guy's name is Bob Reginald... Well, let's see what
his memory says..."
The memory screen lit up shortly, and began to
display many garbled colors distorted around images of small objects. It was
then quickly replaced by the image of a knife, then a red flash, then blood
streaming down the walls of a small room. Then, a small, dark enclosure was
seen.
[DUN DUN DUNN. o.o]
It was a seedy, cockroach ridden room. The young Bob got up and
looked in a pile of broken alcohol bottles, attempting to see his face. He
swiped a cockroach off of his suit and looked again.
[Ew... x.x]
At this point, it was hard
to read his lips, but it appeared he was babbling something about cheese,
killing, dead parents (of course mentioning drunk dad and mom the butterfingers)
and getting out and seeing the world.
[Some of these memories aren't 100% trustworthy, as we'll find out later... but... <.<]
With that, Bob opened the door of
the seedy room and walked down the hallway. Outside of the door were several
knife marks and small insects. A few puke stains were evident, most likely from
a drunken father. Bob simply walked away after copying down the number of
notches scraped into the door.
[The hell? Are the notches like a count of Bob's different 'marks' over the last years? :P]
From that point on, Bob travelled the
world. He took up residence in many places during the Giygas War. At one point,
a strange, evil statue managed to give him enough stability to seize control of
Fourside from Geldegarde Monotoli for a short period of time. He also took note
of his tremendous way of getting hastily from place to place by simply
drifting.
[Yeah, I guess there's another IF ZXD was part of that, some of Bob's history during this era goes MUCH MUCH better into. Although I question the order of these events above and some of those below. Then again, maybe the memory scanner is borked or just overwhelmed by the scatterbraininess of Bob in particular. :P]
Then came some images of another seedy place. On a couch sat a
pale white girl dressed in all black. He drew closer to her, and it seemed they
began talking. This event occured several more times. She made one last
appearance.
[Well that doesn't sound too good. :o]
This time, however, had a less attractive end. Her expression
turned to one of great horror. Bob turned around, and several armed men in suits
were in the doorway. Thinking quickly, he leapt over the couch. Brains and blood
suddenly splattered the wall in front of him. She had been shot in the
head.
[Damn guvment officials and their lousy shots! >_>]
Out the window he fled, taking a bullet in the back. He landed in a
dumpster a story below. A trail of blood haunted him until finally he took off
his suit and tied it around his shoulder. And that was the end of his
suit.
[Because we all know it was the death of his suit that was the biggest factor in his bad day. :P]
Later, many terrible, graphic images played themselves out before
Nole's eyes. Several times he felt as though he might vomit profusely. Other
times he was simply puzzled by Bob's obcessions, such as shiny objects and a
transmitted moving picture show known as "The Dukes of Haazard." In which, two
men, presumably southerners, drove around at high speeds in an orange car with
an oddly marked flag drawn on it, occasionally chased by a fat man in a cowboy
hat in a car equipped with a siren and shining lights.
[lawl. A crazy TV show, for a fellow crazy-minded individual. :P]
Nole never did
understand such obcessions. Moving picture shows never did seem to be anything
that amazing back home.
[Yes, more references to the fact that yes, the Nomad's crew and a lot of areas in space do infact receive TV signals, mostly likely a fair amount directly from Earth.]
Much more insanity followed. It made Nole's head
ache with the pain of a thousand stabbings. He couldn't take it. The raw
insanity was astounding. Finally, just as he was about to turn it off, she
appeared. His attention quickly returned.
[Well, it could be actual, important information to his mission, after all. Which mission it is, be it to eliminate the ACs, or get into Sandra's skirt, who really knows. :P]
He didn't understand it. Why
would he feel so strange all of a sudden? It was as though he were falling into
a state of loving towards her person. But how? She was the enemy, and he knew
it!
[IF were full of drama, but romantic stuff was generally skirted around due to certain incidents that occured long back during the Tenguian days of the practice. <.<]
The memories ended with Bob's hand swiftly moving upwards at his
head. After that, a simple 16 color test pattern appeared on the screen. Nole
rolled Bob's memories around inside his head.
[Which has to be painful as Hell considering Bob's memories are all derped out like that. >.>]
"This is quite
interesting... the boy is clearly unstable. He shows interest in the one they
call Sandra. And surely I've noticed the acts of strength he is capable of when
he appears to be under extreme mental displeasure... This could serve as a
problem..."
[Problem, or possible blessing in disquise? o.O]
Back on Earth, Bob was wiping his hand on his
pants.
"Yuck, I got black, slippery bug guts all over my
hand!"
["also why is there also coolant and oil in my hand?" XP]
And somewhere far away, DWGM was approaching a huge mountain. Atop
it were many oddly dressed people and a palace. Apparently, this was Dalaam,
home of the next sanctuary.
[And the tool moves forth to claim with another prize for his belt of mediocrity. :P]
Yet another part of the world revealed a
severely injured digimon, climbing out of a hole in the pavement, wings bloody
and mutilated. Along with him came Ness, Johnny, Dave and the Banana Kid. They
couldn't help but notice that DWGM had become far more powerful.
[No crap. XD]
And in
yet another place was Sandra, Paula, Jeff, Poo, Mr. Everdred and Nebiroth. They
were in the cold, cold country of Winters, on a visit to Jeff's father, Dr.
Andonuts. Outside they had discovered the USA, but had failed to notice the
half-filled pawprints leading to the cave of the Rainy Circle.
[DWGM is long long gone at this point, and even Sandra's range with magic-aura detection is only so great. What could the group have possibly done even if they had figured out he had been here? Probably near diddly-squat at the time. :o]
And in
Onett was a pickpocket, running around the Onett Hotel. He had yet to steal
everything, so he hadn't went outside. Thusly, he had no idea the whole planet
was frozen in time.
[Yet another reference to Jake from all the way at the beginning, still eternally wandering the Onett hotel, and ironically probably the one character safest and unknown of from the entire fiasco. I assume he did eventually get out, but since we knew jack-crap about him, none of us could really find a good means to auto-pilot him as one of our own ACs. >.>]
Then there was space, in all it's vastness. Just
outside the Earth's gravitational pull was the massive starship, the Nomad.
Aboard was Captain Jamar, scientist Eric and mutinous scientist Nole, who was
currently in a state of emotional distress. Also aboard were a few prisoners,
them being Johnson, Mr. and Mrs. Polestar and a courageous man named Adure, who
had been betrayed by a turkey baster and trapped in a jynnan tonnyx bottle.
Positioned nearby was a fleet of starships, led by a man named Boris.
[Nice galatic summary of events there Mr. Narrator. :P]
The
whole situation was complicated beyond belief. And yet here it was, stretching
out even into the reaches of space. The fate of an entire planet was at stake.
Only time would tell who would win the struggle. Only time would
tell...
[Also, only time will tell if I ever manage to finish these long-ass annotations. lol :P]

[Oh jackalope, this is gonna be a longer post... x.x]
Posted By Cecil (Member # 47) on :
Nole was shocked the say the least as he viewed the memories. From the start he could tell the girl wasn't by any means normal.
[You mean you couldn't already tell by what you saw of her in Nebiroth's memories, you derpbasket? :P]
The first memories he saw were through her eyes as she seemed to climb some odd tower filled with the ghosts of magicians of times past. The memories were devoid of sound, so he couldn't hear her or any of the beings she encountered, but visuals were nonetheless helping out in what he was seeing.
Soon he saw a large being that looked like an abomination of a large werewolf-like creature with biological arms, but also ghostly, like a spirit. This being appearantly was named Number 87, a guardian of the tower, by the way he mouthed his words in the view he had.
[Number #87... basically a name concept I also borrowed from FF6. :P]
The girl and the being fought for a small time, ending with her the victor, and appearently, she had been taught news powers by her experiences. Soon, the girl's memories showed her fighting two more beings in different parts of the power, but each looked and fought different from the first.
[lol, I just now of all times notice that horrible mistype. 'tower', not power, past me. :P]
The girl had been knocked out once in the second battle, but restored to consciousness seconds later, as if she had a guardian angel or so. Nole recalled some of the spells the monsters had used on her, and some of the one she herself used. It was as if the girl and her foes knew magic on a well known basis.
[So yeah, appearantly she had some kind of auto-revive item on her or something. I think the battle here with this guy was supposed to be similar to MagiMaster in FF6/3us, where he usually KOed you at the end of the battle with Ultima, TPKing your group unless someone had auto-revive of somekind. >.>]
Another memory of hers included of an elf from another world arriving in her backyard and talking to her for a short while about some odd myth. He wasn't able to discipher many of the elf's words. He had probably his own unique ways of mentioning stuff to the girl. That wasn't much of an important memory, except through it he learned the girl had only been 9 at the time since she had looked in a mirror at herself on one of those mornings to freshen up, which was a remarkable age for a girl to know such a destructive amount of magic.
[I didn't go into too much detail what this was about, but basically the 'elf' was actually a character from another game, in the middle of a transition from his first game to the second in his series. I won't go anymore into it now. Maybe later. :P]
Another set of memories included her, another boy, his two sisters, his father and mother, and his pet spider being asked by a group to do something, and then they had moved to some new village near the same towers the girl had been to in the previous memories.
[And not just any pet spider. Webgarth... he was a pretty damn big pet spider. Probably larger than most dogs, and just as craving for attention as a dog. Thankfully he's a big softie. @_@]
About 4 months more of memories that revealed a little more about the girl's average life, including that she even had a rival in those days, a green haired kid with a real attitude, who believed he had more powerful abilities than the girl and the other boy she lived with. Somehow, Nole knew the girl wasn't in her real family for some reason, and that these were merely her adopted family.
[Yeah... I mean... I have to assume Valius did tell you about the Polestars by now, which means you should be able to put one and three together to make four, genius. :P]
Other memories include that one day she went into the forests near her village and found the boy she lived with pale and dead, as if he had been thrown through a tree.
[Ouch. :(]
Then a snake-man had appeared, gesturing to the boy's boy, and smarting off about doing the same thing to her.
[bh34otgibtg2... THIS FLAPPIN' TYPO. 'boy's boy'.... MY GOD... I just... I always smack myself 5 times in the head everytime I re-read this line. It's supposed to be 'boy's body', Cecil you stupid twerpface. DDD:
Yeah, I nominate that beaut' as the worst typo of mine in the entire IF. It just sounds... wrong man, really really wrong. :\]
Nole was shocked as she had in a flash gotten in the thing's face, and rammed her fist through his body and out his back, and then freezing the being in place with ice and shattering it.
[Yeah, Sandra's a stone-cold killa. Then again, her foster-brother was just murdered by this snake-faced asshole, so yeah... I mentioned before that harming or god forbid, killing her friends and especially her family (adopted or blood), is basically signing your death sentence. I was not kidding. >_>]
Nole had then seen her find two other monsters and screaming at them, appearantly about the slain boy. They had talked with her for a while, and then in a show of surprise for Nole, joined her, and returned to the village, and meeting up with her rival, who also in surprise joined him after learning of the other boy's death.
[Yeah... the two monsters she yelled at were actually RUNNING from the snake-guy, and long story short, her foster-brother ran into them, mistaking them for hostile monsters and attacked them foolishly. One of them defended themself with an attack than knocked the boy out, leaving him for their persuer to finish off, not aware of this possiblity, so they're feeling very guilty about this. <.<]
They also showed the four going to some castle a few miles off shores, and countless fights with legions on supernatural beings, undead creatures and the like, as well as their fights against countless castle guardians, and some of them giving their powers to her, and the girl's encounter with the ghost of another girl in the castle's library, and also the battle against a powerful man at the end of it all who almost destroyed her, the boy and one of the other monsters with a surprise attack from above. They had been pushed out of the way and saved by the other monster who in turn gave up his own life.
[Yeah that paragraph up there sums up MOST of Sandra's 2nd big story arc in her own past. It's a LOT LOT more complicated than I let it be implied, but again... I think even past me didn't want to get too much in to exposition here, and I'm glad he didn't. :P]
Nole was then in awe at her, the boy and the surviving monster as in rage they had casted a combo of spells including a blue dome of elementless energy, a plethora of meteors, and a swarm of blasts from the monster's trident that did the attacking man in, and destroying the entire tower where the fight had occured.
[Yeah, poor Count Nagar didn't last long after that. Yeah, that's the name of the guy in charge of that castle and all that stuff. Basically the castle and the entire arc was heavily inspired by not FF, but Castlevania of all things. >.>]
More memories led up to 1 year later. Through them Nole learned of her battles with large red and furry demons called the "Red Guard" as they mouthed it in the visions.
[So then where's the "Green Guard"? Or the "Blue Guard"? :P]
She had also defeated them after they had murdered a few inhabitants in a village, and one of them blurted something about the "Phantom Zone", which caused Nole to get suspiscious again.
[Yeah, now we're getting to what Nole probably really considers the important part. >.>]
The girl and her former rival then took a ship to a large coral reef miles off shore and get attacked by both a large bird and a large banacle/sponge creature.
[To be fair, their descriptions don't really make them out to be a really threatening duo of enemies. To be even more fair, they really weren't. :P]
After their defeats, the rival told the girl something to the effect of staying behind, and that she would have to go on alone, and then she ran through a portal in the face of the reef, and into a world with fire and brimstone castle ruins. Nole recogized the two monsters they fought from Nebiroth's visions, and realized this was the point where his and the girl's fates interwined.
He watched furtherly on the girl's treks through the strange new world: towers of fire, the large worm-like being in Nebiroth's memories, a group of caves that seemed composed of skin and living tissue, the large three-headed beast from Chaos' defeat and Nebiroth's visions, and how it's ghost spoke to the girl and became a light that went to her after it's defeat.
[The accquisition of Hydra to Sandra's roster of summons, basically. >.>]
This was likely how he was able to be used the way he had against ChaosGallentmon. Summoning. She could summon creatures to fight. More memories included a forest frozen over, large ice walls, a giant ice beast that attacked the girl with detachable ice claws, and had also given her his powers after his defeat.
[Now mentioning Freon's own experience with this. Also, I still think the concept of Freon's design is pretty cool looking. <.<]
More memories: a large castle hall, Nebiroth's friend, and his death at the hands of the girl and her first use of the three headed-beast's summon, proving his theory she could summon. Battles in a large tower, another fight against a clone of Nebiroth's friend, and then Nebiroth himself, or as he truthfully knew from Nebi's own memories, the fake of Nebiroth, and then finally, their master: the large blue skinned king demon, known as "Sardius" from the wording of his lips.
[Oh boy... here we go, now we get to learn something about this 'Sardius' tool. >.>]
A large battle had ensued, and the girl had finally managed to send the large king into a crumpled heap on the floor, defeating him, or so she at first thought, as the huge room-sized being suddenly metamorphed himself into a smaller, two-headed Kelbeross with blue skin, blue fur, and faces on both sides of his stomach.
[Yeah, I have this bias that a smaller being turning into a massive, warped and disfigured version of themselves isn't always a good idea for a final battle. I took for a reverse route, or as Dragonball people would put it, the 'Frieza' route. :P]
The "new" Sardius was merciless, and seemed as potent in magic as the girl, seemingly more, as he had managed to cast three instances of the blue-dome spell and knock her out.
[LE GASP, she got knocked out AGAIN?! O_O
Yeah folk, she's NOT invincible, no matter what 'certain people' might want to think. Sandra has weaknesses and vulnerabilities and situations where she CAN be flat out OVERWHELMED if she's not expecting it. Doesn't mean she's down for good, but she can be at least temporarily defeated once in a while. >.>]
Nole at first wondered how she could've survived that. Because of there being no sound, he was unable to hear a vital part of her memories, and of exactly why she got back up minutes later, appearantly much stronger than prior, now using a bluish barrier to block and repel many of the demon king's attacks, and retaliate with her own, as well as use a move Nole didn't understand very well from seeing it.
[Yeah sorry, I'm not going to spoil the secret to Sandra's 'second wind' here anymore than my old post did, at least not now anyways. It doesn't feel appropriate to do that yet. >.>]
She then charged at the smaller Sardius, and tricked him, and then about crushed him in a bear hug. She then slowly floated up above the ground, squeezing Sardius against her for all she was worth, and Nole's view of her memories was blinded by a massive blue flash that only very slowly diminished and showed nothing left of Sardius. The girl had then blacked out and then later awoke again, returning to her own world, and out of the strange demon world.
[I will however explain this above scene: she learned a SECOND level of the Ultima spell, an ability she could also release using her own body as the epicenter. By basically grip-locking Sardius into submission beforehand, she was able to make absolutely sure he couldn't defend himself from it or even escape, and thus it finally brought him down. :P]
The last memories show a group of wizards showing her a portal that ended up sending her to Earth, and into a small clearing, and the memories of finding her Earth frozen, and the memory book and photo of her family that she took with her, and of the installation in Onett where she had found her Dad and one of their own spies, and of all the other memories left from then and up to this current point.
[So yeah, that's the memories of Sandra for you... well, the last 5 years of them. Anything that she went through previous to that 'tower' at the start is obviously too far back for Nole to see, so that's probably gonna be an issue with trying to figure out how to deal with her in full. >.>]
Nole's head was spinning from this. He was marvelled by these two: a girl, and large demonoid, who had at first seemed like ironic coinsidences in the game of their life, but now it seemed more certain that they had came to stop them. He had to find a way to STOP THEM.
[Well no crap man, they're probably two of the strongest ACs in the story. Of course you need to figure out how to do that. It's not exactly an epiphany. >.>[
Or in the very least, keep them out of the way. Nole had also gained a powerful feeling at that point. He had a sense of admiration for this girl, one that began to do odd things to his body habits. He was now all nervous and sweaty, and with a slightly beating heart.
[LOL... what? Oh no... seriously, you toolprick? o.O]
"Oh my dear creator... no... I'm falling in love with my enemy!! This is insane!!"
[Why? Why why why? You're a damn moron, Nole. x.x]
Nole left the room, to both go to work on improving his weapon using the data from Sandra's memories, and to get a refreshing drink, maybe to try and quench his thrist of his newfound love for her...
[Yeah, you better find a way to 'quench it, for I'm sure neither Sandra or Bob, or hell, even Paula would be all too happy to know this and would gladly pound your to ribbons for it. :P]

"This isn't working too well!" Ness cried as Omedramon struggled to stay airborne.

DWGM was speeding off towards Dalaam at an alarming speed. He had been growing more and more powerful, due to the radiation coming from the Sanctuaries he'd been visiting. Without a Sound Stone, his body was absorbing power from them. He was now truly a force to be wreckoned with.
[Not only really lucky, but now really strong eh? Geez, no need to rub it in. x.x]
"Hmm, what's this? I feel something coming towards me. Something weak... It's that Omedramon guy!"
["Something weak..." oh... BURN. XP]
Surely enough, with his health restored, Omedramon was going to try a head on assault.
[Because you know, that tactic always works in shonen stories, or any real life event for that matter. :P]
"You won't get away this time, DoomWereGrowlithmon!"
"Oh, I see, you're going to try and stop me. Well the spider has become the fly! Time to say goodnight!"
["Would you like your complimentary night-light of horror and doom with your goodnight-beating?" :P]
A single swipe sent Omedramon face first into the street of Fourside. Once again, his wings were mutilated and bloody. Pain wracked his digital body. DWGM flew off out of sight, presumably still on his path to Dalaam.
[Welp, there goes Omedramon's healing ability... ZXD's vitriol at PP was at it's all time high here I believe. :P]
Banana Kid had by now produced a small item for use on humans. He decided now would be a good time for a test. The device shook wildly, like a washing machine at the cleaners. However, it soon sputtered, coughed and exploded in his face.
"Well, looks like this is going to be impossible..."
["That device was going to cure AIDS and then it was going to also cure World Hunger, and it was also going to cure our energy crisis... and" blah blah... >.>
Yeah, Zero and Plasma just absolutely adored each other's company. XD]

Fortunately for DWGM, they'd never catch up with him, what with Omedramon's flight still heavily damaged from the attack on the Nomad, which in itself was a dumb idea. And how lucky could he get?
[Look, we already established the poor tool has a lot more luck than he should. No need to rub it in. :P]
He had already found five spots of power! Giant Step, Lilliput Steps, Milky Well, Rainy Circle and Magnet Hill! But from there, locations were a mystery.
A gut feeling told him that he had gone backwards from Winters. So why not go to the far east? Dalaam, yes... sounded very promising. Even the name had a powerful sound to it.
[Dalaam... I don't know if that's really true... it more reminds me of the Dahli-Lama than a powerful place. >.>]
Back in Threed, Bob finally pointed something out to Zac.
"You know, I do have a motorcycle."
"You have a motorcycle? Where in the world did you... say, Bob... is that motorcycle LEGALLY yours?"
["What's 'legally' mean?" Bob asked innocently. :P]
Bob smiled his insane little smile.
"Legal? There's no law like no law!"
[Well the world is frozen in time, and Glenn did probably pilfer a lot of stuff to make his Darksaber, so why can't Bob have a little fun with a motorcycle? :P]
"... right. Well, I suppose you could ride it. If anyone else can't keep up, you can try to ride on with Bob."
["...if he doesn't try to murder you horribly that is." XP]
With that, Bob ran back to the complex and fired up the motorcycle.
-------------
Back on the Nomad...
"Hmm... this is very interesting..." said Jamar. "I put my hand in this ray of energy from the five spots DWGM has found already, and I feel stronger. I also see things from my youth."
["And it's made me realize how damn pointless half my life's been, Eric. Is this experiment really worth it in the end?" :P]
"Really sir?"
"Yes. But it seems to send an unfinished song through my mind at the same time. Like a bad Spacester download."
[lol, music piracy jokes ahoy, captain! XP]
Eric looked at him.
"Spacester? I thought the Supreme Court of Gamma 12 outlawed it."
"Pishaw. Beta 37 did that. And they're far on the other end of the universe from us!"
["Screw Beta 37 and their facist dictatorship laws. We're out for freedom to steal, plunder and pillage all we want, be it resources from planets, or free music off the space-internet!" XD]
"If you say so."
Nole was busy in the back, jamming to Alpha Quadrant's newest hit single, "Your Zalquog Makes my 3rd Heart Fail to Function," which he'd recently snatched of Spacester.
[See, even jealous, egosentric pricks like Nole know what the gig is... >.>]
At the same time, he was going over the developing readout of Sandra. It was making his head spin.
"Wow, this is incredible."
That's all he could manage. The sheer awe that came over him when he read it forbade him from doing any kind of evil monologue.
[And that's not good thing... whether for him, or for the ACs, we'll have to stay tuned to find out, though. :P]

Zac spun around at the familiar voice. Don't do anything rash... Zac said to himself as his anger level started to rise at her presense.
[For a saiya-jin, especially the brasher of two brothers, Zac is handling this a lot better than I'd expect. I guess maybe that's why he did all that training earlier to flush out his excess anger about Crypha. o.o]
"May I ask you a question?" Zac looked towards Crypha.
"I guess so."
"Why do you chase after Bob?"
["Because I've come to fancy myself a nice Bobsicle... Why do you ask? Do you also like Bobsicles? I can share some if you want me too!" o.O]
She giggled. "Because he's so silly!"
Zac sweatdropped. "Right..."
["It's also because I have a crush on him, twinkletoes." :P]
"But, do you know why Bob runs from me?"
"The only thing I can think of is when you go to hug him, you shock him every time. I don't think he likes that."
[Geez, you don't say, Zac? :P]
"Oh. Are you saying that I'm hurting Bob?"
"Possibly."
"Oh well. He can take it!"
["Yep he can, ok love you, goodbye!" XD]
"See ya later, Crypha." Zac turned and started walking in the direction that Bob ran off. He put up a hand, waving almost.
As Zac rounded the corner, Bob pulled him aside.
"Did she follow you?"
"No..."
["Then she's up to something... I just know it..." >_> <.<]
"Okay, then let's go before she notices..." Bob grabbed Zac's arm and ran as fast as he could out of the complex. Kyle saw the two leave, so he got up and ran after them.
"So, where do we go from here?" Kyle asked Zac.
["We go to the zoo, Kyle! There's a nice exhibit on shapeshifting pigs there." XD]
"I don't really know. I think that if we fly around for a little and use the orb we got to home in on the others, then we might find another one."
"Excuse me, but I can't fly!" Bob shouted.
[Yeah, you know fair point. Sandra can probably move really fast and probably jump a good distance, but poor Bob, he can't even do basic flight. :P]
"I can't either, but I can jump really high."
[Sandra might be interested in challenging you to a high-jump competition now. Now look what you got yourself into, Kyle. <.<]
"Let's just start by looking in Twoson or Onett," Zac suggested. The three started walking towards the Two-Three Tunnel.

(OK, i'm introducing another AC. I hope Nappamon isn't counted as one, because he's basically part of the package.)
[Uh oh... this could skirt the line over the "2 ACs only" rule. I have a feeling this is going to lead to some problems. <.<]
"So, how are we gonna find these Dragon Ball thingies?" Ness asked.
"Yeah. I'm a genius, but i don't know the first thing about these." Dave said.
[Gee really, Dave? Where was that genius when you derpy-mcgees were fighting Pictos? :P]
"Relax. I know someone as good as Apple Kid, Jeff, or Dr. Andonuts." Johnny said, and led them back to Autumns, to a strange yellow house. Johnny opened the door.
"Hey Banana Kid!"
[Wut? Another 'fruit kid'? Really? ¬_¬ Oh this is just asking for some conflicts between him and some of the others. I can see it now. :P
ALSO. How is the flying fudgebasket is 'Banana Kid' not frozen either? I mean at least most of the OTHER characters explain it for their circumstances. But without Glenn or Sandra around, there's no way to reverse the time freeze's effects, so Banana Kid would have to have been unfrozen from the get-go. <.<]
A kid wearing a yellow outfit and a yellow baseball cap walked out. "Yeah?"
Johnny tossed him the dragon ball. "Make a device to track down these!"
"Neat! My pleasure!" so Banana Kid set to work on a dragon radar.
[Great, so a Bulma analouge who's actually based off the naming theme of Orange and Apple Kid? Why not just have us unfreeze one or both of them? I mean yeah.. Orange Kid's research is mostly pointless, and Apple Kid is a bit of a slob, but at least they had established roles in Earthbound and...
Oh just ignore me... I guess I'm just reflecting on this and realizing how redundant some of this sounded. I don't mean any serious offense to PlasmaPenguin here, just I'm sure there could've been a less... "egotistic" way to do this, as that's the vibe I was getting from this I guess. ._.]
EDIT: Sorry! I fixed it. I didn't mean to glory-hog or brag...
[LOL. Yeah... there's definately contention between ZXD and PP here... I don't know if the original post was oozing of even more ego than this version did or not, but something about it did not please our resident 'IF Punisher' at all. :P]

(That's a good fellow.)
[*Pats PP on the head* "Who's a good little egoist, who's a good little egoist?" XD]
Bob was slouched over in a closet. Sweat was stinging his eyes. His clothes looked as though they were just thrown in a lake.
[Gods, now this is starting to just look pity-inducing for poor Bob. Crypha, calm down girl... give him some time to breath and rest before getting your damn Bobsicles! :P]
"Man, when will she give up?" he muttered, feeling as though he could die of exhaustion any minute. "I am Happy Bob the Homicidal Maniac. Noone can catch me!"
[Um... I know at least four characters, not even including Crypha or Sandra who could prove you wrong on that front, Bob. :P]
"I think that's an overstatement, Bob..." said a voice from outside the door.
[Yeah exactly what I just and... wait wut? Where the hell did you come from?! O_o;]
Bob felt a twitch in his eye. He suddenly broke down.
"No! No! Leave me alone! I'm too young to die! AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!!!"
[I can't help but both laugh and pity the pool fool. x_.]
The door opened and he crawled back into the corner. It looked like this was it.
"Bob, what's up with you?" said a familiar voice.
"Wait a second, you're not Crypha!"
["No Bob, I'm your conscience... duh!" :P]
"No, I'm Zac. I heard all the racket you were making, running down the hall screaming, 'She's coming! She's coming! Save me!' so I came to investigate." he said, annoyance clear in his tone.
[LOL. Yeah, you are making a lot of noise and ruckus in Zac's home, he does have the right to check it out and stuff. <.<]
Bob blinked.
"Oops. Must not have realized how much I was screaming."
[Gee, ya think? XP]
"Yeah, you must not have..." said Zac. "Say, have you seen Sandra, Paula, Poo, Nebi-"
"Yeah. Yeah, I've seen Sandra. Said they were going to Winters to help Jeff see his Dad and to Scaraba to find Mr. Everdred."
["...sorry... I'm just a bit... agitiated at being made to play messenger... and all that..." :(]
Bob shuddered at the thought of Scaraba. He remembered its miserable heat back from the Giygas War. It was agonizing for him to walk around in that heat. And the way his Camel seemed to try to escape him at every turn...
[Because surely it knew you weren't planning to feed it to a Dread Skelpion if they attacked you, right? <.<]
"Oh, I see. Well, we're going to go find the Dragon Balls, hopefully bringing Brett back from the dead."
["You know, the usual shonen-anime style subplots and all that jazz." XD]
Bob felt a chilling air slowly seeping from something behind him.
[His fear? His gas? o.O]
"That's great! Uh, can I come along?" he said, his head over his shoulder, seeing the blue mist getting thicker every second.
[Oh yeah, the herald of Bobsicles cometh. :P]
Zac stared over his shoulder, trying to see what it was that bugged him so much.
"Sure, why not Bob? We could use a few more good people."
["...heck, maybe a former murderer could be useful for finding the nooks and crannies we wouldn't expect to look for." :P]
"Great, thanks, gotta go now, you know how it is and all, bye!"
With that, Bob fled with great zest down the hall in the opposite direction.
"Now where did he get off to in such a hurry?" questioned Zac.
"Oh, I don't know. Boys are so strange." said Crypha, now fully reformed.
[Oh boy... this is only described as an awkward meeting about to happen. o.o]

Everdred."

[Joy, more long-ass paragraphs ahoy! X_X
Oh a lighter note: I have noticed a trend among my posts. Early on, I posted a lot... almost every time someone else posted anything really that had story content, but over time, I started to space out my posting where I don't completely choke off everyone with my post content.
Turns out yeah I had reasons for that, reasons I'll need to explain later when it becomes more relevant. I'm not totally looking forward to explaining myself, but... I owe it to myself and some others to do so eventually. >.>]

Nole had other ideas though as well. He has recently scanned through the memories of Nebiroth, who had still had a Memory Scanner attached to his head.
[Oh boy... I guess it was time I finally utilized the memory scanner plot-angle somewhere. This might be a doozy, folks. >_>]
Nole wanted to be the one to personally scan the large demonoid's memory. He had many beliefs that Nebiroth was the largest part of the resistance team's power, and without him they would be signifcantly weakened.
[Well... I'd say honestly he makes up at least 1/10 to 1/9 of the group's total power, but then again... I forget some of the powers of the other ACs like GMOE off hand... :P]
He had no idea that he would learn of the things he did: Nebiroth was definately NOT native to Earth, as the memories clearly told him, but he was native to a world of Phantoms, Demons, Ghosts, Goblins, etc, etc.
[Spoooooooooooky.... o.o]
Nebiroth's memories included that he had many friends: one being another being similar to him in look and size, but with red clothing and without a crown and greyish skin [Austorouto], another being a large samurai-like Ice Golem that could hurl his claws like boomerrangs [Freon], a large 3 headed dragon beast with different elemental properties [Hydra], which Nole found out to actually be exactly identical with the same one that had attacked ChaosGallentmon before.
[How he exactly knows about that little detail yet... I don't know. I'm sure he'll eventually see said battle through the memory scanners, but they don't show things out of order, you know. >.>]
He also saw memories of accquintances of Nebiroth, not necessarily friends, but allies none the less. One was a large Cocktrice, another was a large Barnacle/Sponge hybrid that could use the sea to hover herself near the surface and attack foes before submerging, another being a large mongolian-death-worm/centepede hybrid, and finally, memories of a giant blue skinned being trimmed in gold, and with a whie beard like Nebiroth's.
[Yeah... big blue guy here is actually Sardius, Nebiroth's boss-man. More on him... eventually? I guess? :P]
He then saw more memories, including the one of Nebiroth watching the battle unfold between what appeared to be a clone of him and the pink-haired girl with him now, who soon after beating the clone had gone in and destroyed the large blue being, but not without much difficulty.
[Yeah, we'll learn more about the circumstances of Sandra vs. Sardius soon enough folks... it'll be read out in painful detail. However, some of what happens might actually surprise you a bit at first. :P]
It was then he realized the girl and Nebiroth were not of this world, and it was merely coincidence such powerful foes had come to them at a time.
[A pretty friggin bad coincidence don't you say, Nole? :P]
However Nole didn't know the truth of Sandra actually being native to Earth and missing for 10 years.
[And I don't think he ever does learn that, as the memory scanner isn't going to be able to show her memories from her Earth days due to it's limitations. XP]
However, Nole now had enough data on Nebiroth to start preparing himself for the giant green-skinned demonoid. Now it was time to scan the one girl's memory, he thought, since the two were somehow connected via Nebiroth's memories...
[Oh boy... I hope you have a strong heart, Nole... I really do... prick or not, I still pity you for what you and your 'friends' on the Nomad are getting into. <.<]

Thunder filled the air of Winters as the group of Paula, Jeff, Poo, Sandra, Nebiroth, and now Everdred as well boomed into the area and landed in front of Stonehenge. Poo had been able to make his teleporting more efficant in the recent months and could actually teleport to almost exactly the area he was thinking of, as long as it was outside, of course.
[Yeah, I suppose someone who trains his skills all the time would find a way to more perfect the ol teleport skill. :P]
Jeff said, "I think we'd better hurry to the lab." Sandra however, had been looking around Winters and Stonehenge, marveling its' sights, when she saw it... an all too familar object, lying there in the snow.
[If it's another damn dragonball, I swear I'll...]
She ran up to it, and lifted it from the frozen snow, revealing it was the slightly damage Ultra Statis Array that ChaosGallentmon and DWGM had attacked everyone with back in the complex.
[OH. Well that's a more... pleasent surprise. XP]
She knew it was the same one because she remembered the design layers, and when she shot and froze Chaos with it before ending his existance with a Flare spell.
[Yeah, aka the one time you truly took matters into your own hands as far as killing or fighting a major enemy, despite how damn powerful you are. :P]
"Wait Jeff! I think THIS can be very useful to us if you can fix it up." Sandra called, showing Jeff the ultra statis array. Jeff's eyes could've litten up like christmas lights as the sight of it.
[OH GODS. Jeff's description could not be any closer to the truth right now. I could only imagine have a controlled device that freeze anything in time he shoots. The Nomad is in for a nasty surprise I bet. >:D]
"Yes. I was always wanted to make a weapon that could do such thing, but also smaller. Thanks Sandra." "Your welcome." she said with a small ^_^, and a very hard to notice blush.
[GOD, the ^_^ returns again! I thought I was done with those... ._.;]
Things had been happening for Sandra in those times, and oddly enough, Sandra seemed to be a little attached to Jeff since she had met him. It wasn't as much as love as it was a friend, because Jeff didn't seem like a big love-type person at the time.
[Okay yeah... this was alluding to a possible love-triangle I had set up. In some original drafts of some of my... other and older stories... Sandra gained feelings for Jeff instead of someone else [i.e. Bob], and I wanted to give off an allusion to that, not that anyone else reading would get the reference of course, but it was for my own sake more than anything. Nothing comes of this... I promise you. :P]
However, all moments end sometime, and with that the group continued south to the lab of Jeff's father, Dr. Andonuts, and proceeded inside. Sandra also neglected to notice something float from Nebiroth's beard, and onto the back of her suit, the memory scanner...
[Oh boy... well I know what my next post is gonna mostly be about... so be prepared in advance for that folks. Be prepared... @_@]

Bob was cowering in a bush. He was shaking hard. It wouldn't take Crypha long to find him at this rate. He looked around for some kind of fast transport. It seemed Crypha would catch him. That was, until the motorcycle caught his eye.
"A motorcycle! Whee!"
[More of Bob's desire to be a wild and crazy soul, so course he drifts to stealing a motorcycle. :P]
Bob lunged out of the bushes, landing a foot short of the motorcycle. He simply stood up, dusted himself off and snuck closer to the motorcycle.
"Well hey, I'm no Aerrol Flynn."
[Don't know him personally, but from what I looked up on Errol Flynn, he was born in the late 1900s and was somewhat instrumental in the action-adventure movie genre. I don't really keep up on old movie actors, so that's the extent of my knowledge. :P]
His eyes suddenly shimmered. It wasn't because the keys were in the ignition, not at all. He had spotted the motorcycle hat hanging on the throttle. He simply put his fedorah in his pocket and put the biker hat on. It was a good fit.
[Bob lookin' snappy, cuz. XP]
Crypha was still looking around where Bob had been previously. She didn't have the slightest clue about where he was. And then, she heard the yells of Bob.
[Way to clue her to where you are, you loudmouth. >.>]
"Start you piece of junk! Start!" he cursed the motorcycle, attempting to turn the key as hard as he could. "Geez, Sandra makes this stuff look easy!"
[lolwut? Sandra never rode a vehicle in her life, Bob! Hell I'm not even sure she was on Earth long enough to know what a motorcycle is. :P]
Crypha's eyes lit up.
"There you are!"
["I want my Bobsicles! I want them, I want them, I want them!!" o.O]
Bob's heart skipped a beat. He turned back the the ignition, adrenaline pumping. With much effort, the key finally broke free of the freeze and turned. The engine turned and quickly fired.
"Ha haaaaa! It worked! Chalk up another one for meeeeeeeeeeeee..." he shouted, as his voice faded into the distance.
[And promptly screamed in terror as he nearly smashed into a telephone pole on the way out. <.<]
Crypha shook her head, a smile still on her face.
"When will that boy learn... You can't escape from Crypha!"
[That boy will never learn, my dear. XD]
Bob was by now heading towards Threed, speeds nearing 100. The telephone poles looked like a picket fence. He thought he was seeing spots; the lines on the road just looked like dots. He had flames coming out of the side of that motorcycle.
[I actually know exactly were ZXD took this description from. A song known as "Hotrod Lincoln" by George Thoroughood. Your usual 'dude who loves high-speed car-rides impresses/scares-the-crap-out-of his friends and gets pulled over by the cops, etc, etc...' it's catchy though, I'll give it that. <.<]
"Wow, this baby sure is fast! Hey, I wonder what's on TV right now?"
[Pretty sure it's still the same frame of Dukes of Hazzard that you last saw when you woke up, considering the damn world is still 98% frozen. :P]
Bob's thoughts now focused on what would be on TV right now. If it hadn't been, he'd have noticed the blue speck in the distance behind him gradually growing. Obviously Crypha had taken her vitamins today.
[That's putting it lightly. He's moving over 100MPH, and she can still easily keep up... probably isn't even winded. O_O]
"Bob, guess whooooo...?" she called from behind him, a girlish giggle following.
He turned and faced her. Surely enough, she was right behind him. Bob was really gonna need to gun it. He pushed that throttle as far forwards as it would go. The motorcycle inched away from Crypha.
["110... 120... 130... 145 MPH!! Go bike, go!!" XD]
And then he saw the complex, a blazing structure nearing him at what seemed to be the speed of sound. Bob applied the brakes hard. The rubber from the those tires left a skid thirty feet long.
[Wait wait wait... he went at that speed and it took him that long to get from Polestar Preschool to the complex? I can understand that he didn't consider the sewers due to the adrenaline rush of trying to escape Crypha's Bobsicle obsession, but I doubt he'd need THAT much time at 100-150MPH to get there. >_>;]
And then he simply left the hat behind on his new motorcycle, put his fedorah back on and rushed inside. He had to escape Crypha's infatuation. So in he went, deeper and deeper, half of the time having no clue where he was going. Finally Bob came to rest in a bathroom in a locked stall.
[Can't forget that classy-ass fedora can you, Bob? I swear that thing's gonna get you into it so badly some day. <.<]
"Whew... finally."
And then, he felt a slight chill coming from a vent overhead.
"... Oh no. Oh nononono..."
["Oh yes... oh yesyesyes..." :D]
And out came Crypha.
[DUN DUN DUNN!!]
"Well Bob, I've caught you. Give me my reward! Hee hee..."
["Give me my damn Bobsicles already!" D:]
"NOOOOOOOO!!!!" he screamed, leaping over into the stall next to him.
He quickly ran out of that stall and back into the complex to hide.
[Bob just can't catch a break from her, can he? >.> I begin to pity him, it's starting to feel on stalker-ish levels from dear little Crypha here.]
---------
Back on the Nomad...
Nole's face was lit only by the dim light of a monitor. Many images passed before him. DWGM searching for more power spots, Sandra, Everdred and her party, the General Lee frozen in mid-air, Bob running away from Crypha, Zac and his party going to search for the orbs... He blinked, almost producing an audible sound.
[Ohai sudden General Lee reference... o.o]
"Well well, quite a few interesting developments. I'll have to try to use some of this to my advantage..."
He began laughing maniacally, his cackle echoing throughout the dark room.
[Meh, I'm sorry... he's still a toolish prickface, no matter how scheming he wants to appear. :P]
Posted By The Losar (Member # 361) on :
Kyle volunteered to join Zac in his quest, glad to be able to leave the complex. Glenn decided to stay, however. He wanted to really test his limits in that training center. He couldn't surpass 2x gravity for fear of hurting Kyle.
[Well, Glenn... it looks like you're out of luck for training right now. :\]
-----
Meanwhile, DWGM couldn't believe his luck! By aimlessly walking around, he managed to find two more power spots without trying! He found Milky well on his way to Lillyput Steps, which he was just leaving from.
[Gee, who knew DWGM would have such a sudden burst of luck? Even half-braindead tools still get lucky once in a while. It's like the whole 'stopped-clock' theorem. >_>]
Not only do they seem to be bunched together, thought DWGM, but they're all in obvios places! So far they've been in valleys and alleys and accesible by cave, in one way or another!
[Yeah, well besides Magnet Hill being in the middle of Eagleland's biggest city... but other than that, you know? :P]

"Zac, the analysis is complete. Would you care to hear or see the results?" The computer spoke up. The anlysis took about an hour to complete.
[Well I would think he does want to hear it, considering he requested the damn scan. >.>]
"Display the results on the monitor closest to me." The monitor on Zac's left flickered to life. Numbers and stats appeared in great amounts. At the end, what Zac wanted to see appeared. "It's real... it really is a-"
["-an amber tennis ball!" :P]
"Zac, what are you doing?" Kyle and Glenn came over to see how he was doing.
"Just checking the results of the analysis I had the computer do on that orb Ness and Omedramon found."
"Oh? Is it real?" Glenn asked.
Zac paused. "Yes. I'm going to go out and find them. If I can get all of them, Brett will be back and kicking."
[Yeah, now comes the quest to bring back poor Brett to the land of the living again... shame this plotline never finished before the IF went south. :\]
"Are you going by yourself?" Kyle asked.
"Actually, I wouldn't mind a friend or two coming just in case there's trouble. I was going to go out and announce my departure to the rest of the guys in a second."
[I wonder who the lucky vict... er volunteers are gonna be? :P]
The three left the room and went out into the main lobby-esque area.
"I'm going out to search for the orbs. I'll be back once I have them all and Brett is back. If a couple of you guys want to come with me, that's fine. The complex is at your disposal, and I'll have the computer answer any of your questions. So, who wants to go with me?"
["Not I..." said the Cecil, "I wish to abuse the use of your training rooms." <.<]
-------------------------------------------------
"Captain, it seems as though the group is slowly splitting apart. It seems as if some people have their own agendas, thus weakening the strength of the group."
[Gee, ya think, random scientist, #23? :P]
"This would be a perfect time to strike, but we will wait until the weapon is ready, not to rush it. Plus, maybe more people will scatter from the main group. We will wait and see what hand fate has dealt us this time..."
[Just don't wait too long Jamar... some other idiot might steal your chance from under you if that happens, or you know... the ship could get blown up... something like that. <.<]

Eventually, DWGM gave up on contacting the Nomad. Instead, he just placed one of the locating devices onto the Magnet Hill and left the alleyway.
[Looks like he really DID get a 'busy signal'. Shows how much the Nomad gives a crap about poor DWGM. :P]
He eventually made it to Dusty Dunes, having to swim across from Fourside since the bridge was unaccessable and (so DWGM thought) probably being watched.
[Damn, I suppose he is smart or paranoid enough to watch his back. ChaosGallentmon's death must've REALLY hit the poor tool hard. XD]
DWGM made his way along the shoreline. Along the way, he spotted something shining in the sand. He recalled seeing mining equipment in the desert earlier.
"Could that be gold?" asked DWGM aloud. He decided to check it out. Sure enough, half-buried in the sand, a seemingly valuable object was gleaming in the sun. It wasn't gold, DWGM noticed, but a small amber ball with a star in it. He picked it up and continued on his way.
[What's a good use of Dragonballs without the villians of the piece at least getting their hands on one of them for tension's sake? :P]

[Well, Star finally returns after a hiatus of posts. :P]
Up in space, a group of fighters, nearly invisible, waited in a meteor field. They had been there for hours without action. Some pilots were already sleeping.
[I don't know how smart it would be to sleep at the cockpit of your star-fighters. Then again, I never piloted one, so natch. x.x]
Shine eyed her status. In about 30 minutes, her ship would run out of life-support resources, and everybody else's will probably end sooner. After Boris's ship had been frozen, they couldn't do anything without communication. Or so they thought.
[No wonder they've been out of it for a while. :P]
Shroud had set up a satellite beacon with only 1 channel, but it was enough. For endless hours upon hours they discussed their next move, and monitoring what the group down on Earth were doing. Shine sighed for the third time in her starfighter. It didn't happen often.
[Shine must generally be a lot more cheerful and open on normal terms. I guess Boris's status is really eating at her. >.>]
Suddenly, something in Shrine and Shroud snapped in unison, as if some memory between those two broke open from its cage. From their fighters, they could see each other through the windshield, which is what they did. "Get off the intercom for 5 minutes, everybody. I'm going to discuss a battle plan with Shroud." Shine said into her mouthpiece.
[Um... not to ruin your sibling-rivalry here guys, but WHY do you two need the channel alone? What kind of plan are you worried about them hearing? O_o]
Once everybody was off, Shine spoke again. "Shroud... I know you've been to pilot training with me. Do you remember something about gravity reversal?"
"Yeah, Shine... But what's gravity going to do about the Mother ship's current... situation?"
[Hmm... this might be going somewhere? Perhaps? :P]
"I don't know exactly, but perhaps... Their weapon is gravity-based? You know that gravity can be manipulated to change the speed and functions of matter. Nobody's tried it out, because it might've been dangerous..."
[Oh boy... this DOES sound pretty dangerous. It's 'Bad End' for sure if you get frozen by that thing.]
"So you're saying that we should try and preform the gravity reversal on the Mother ship?"
"It's work, if my theory's right."
[It's an IF, so either it will work out, or it'll go spectacularly wrong. XD]
"My sister was like this... I guess we can give it a try. But we'd be at the risk of freezing ourselves along the way."
[Shroud, what the hell are you on...? That didn't come out the way you think it did at the beginning. o.O]
"Better die trying than dieing."
"Wha-?"
"Never mind. Let's wait for the rest to get back on the intercom."
[Still don't get WHY you needed a totally private channel to discuss it... XP]
Shine and Shroud explained their plan about gravity reversal, and most accepted it. A handful were angry and afraid of the risk, but after a few catchy space quotes, they agreed. By that time, their life-support system was at about 6%, meaning they only had 10 minutes to do it.
[Well you doofuses need to do something, or your all decompress in the vaccum and you don't want that, do you? :P]
They began the maneuver. As all the starfighters got into a circle with tractor beams crossing to the other side, the Nomad's weapons turned toward the group. Shine's hands started shaking. "Five... Four... Three...Two...One..."
[and... ACTION!! XD]
Her timing could not have been more accurate. Red beams sprouted out of the Nomad's cannons, and as they headed for the circle formation of the surviving starfighters, they shrunk into a tighter formation. As Shroud had expected, the large cannon aimed at the packed group, and fired.
[Well we goes nothing... >.>]
"Go go go!" Everybody seemed to yell at the same time. The feedback into the microphone was deafening, but everybody still did what they were supposed to do. As they spread out again, into the largest circle possible, the red beam blasted into the exact place where all the tractor beams had crossed.
[So they're using their own tractor beams to reverse gravity flow? O.o I have no idea if that could work in reality, but Sci-Fi folks... Sci-Fi. o.o;]
The effect was magnificent and beautiful to the eye. The blue-white of the tractor beams turned red, and seemed to be sucked into the red ball at the center. It grew larger and larger, turning a bright yellow at the same time. When it almost burned the fighters' positions, it launched right a the Mother ship, which had been on the other side of the fighter squadron.
[And caused the ship to promptly shrink down to the size of a mouse... Oh sorry, I'm thinking of my Misfits story for a second. XD]
The ship was enveloped by the yellow ball, and after a few moments, became active again. The intercom channels lighted up again on the interior of the ships, and they cheered in the different restored channels.
Boris's voice reached Shine's ears. "Alright, Shine, I'll wait for you."
"What are you talking about, Boris? We just unfroze you!"
["What?! Well... damn this is awkward..." ._.]
Boris's face appeared on her screen again, surprised. "Get everybody back to the ship, their life-support systems are incredibly low. I'll expect a full report when you get back. I am so confused."
[You and me both, Boris... :P]
Shine smiled. "Great, Boris. Guys! Let's go home."
Under heavy fire from the Nomad, the remaining fighters returned to the Mothership, to rejoice and to reversed the effects on Earth, once and for all.
Note: the gravitation reversal can't work on large mass, such as a planet. And I thought it'd be a good way to get back into the story, because I lost myself on the second page.
[Yeah, that's what friggin happens when you shy away from an active IF for more than 1-2 days at a time. You lose a LOT of headway. :P
Also, this is the return(sorta) of Boris as a character, but I think the author himself doesn't return yet, or at all for the reminder of the IF. Just a heads up.]
