Posts #123 & 124 [Zero X. Diamond & Losarian Prodigy]

Posted By Zero X. Diamond (Member # 654) on :

Bob was cowering in a bush. He was shaking hard. It wouldn't take Crypha long to find him at this rate. He looked around for some kind of fast transport. It seemed Crypha would catch him. That was, until the motorcycle caught his eye.

"A motorcycle! Whee!"

[More of Bob's desire to be a wild and crazy soul, so course he drifts to stealing a motorcycle. :P]

Bob lunged out of the bushes, landing a foot short of the motorcycle. He simply stood up, dusted himself off and snuck closer to the motorcycle.

"Well hey, I'm no Aerrol Flynn."

[Don't know him personally, but from what I looked up on Errol Flynn, he was born in the late 1900s and was somewhat instrumental in the action-adventure movie genre. I don't really keep up on old movie actors, so that's the extent of my knowledge. :P]

His eyes suddenly shimmered. It wasn't because the keys were in the ignition, not at all. He had spotted the motorcycle hat hanging on the throttle. He simply put his fedorah in his pocket and put the biker hat on. It was a good fit.

[Bob lookin' snappy, cuz. XP]

Crypha was still looking around where Bob had been previously. She didn't have the slightest clue about where he was. And then, she heard the yells of Bob.

[Way to clue her to where you are, you loudmouth. >.>]

"Start you piece of junk! Start!" he cursed the motorcycle, attempting to turn the key as hard as he could. "Geez, Sandra makes this stuff look easy!"

[lolwut? Sandra never rode a vehicle in her life, Bob! Hell I'm not even sure she was on Earth long enough to know what a motorcycle is. :P]

Crypha's eyes lit up.

"There you are!"

["I want my Bobsicles! I want them, I want them, I want them!!" o.O]

Bob's heart skipped a beat. He turned back the the ignition, adrenaline pumping. With much effort, the key finally broke free of the freeze and turned. The engine turned and quickly fired.

"Ha haaaaa! It worked! Chalk up another one for meeeeeeeeeeeee..." he shouted, as his voice faded into the distance.

[And promptly screamed in terror as he nearly smashed into a telephone pole on the way out. <.<]

Crypha shook her head, a smile still on her face.

"When will that boy learn... You can't escape from Crypha!"

[That boy will never learn, my dear. XD]

Bob was by now heading towards Threed, speeds nearing 100. The telephone poles looked like a picket fence. He thought he was seeing spots; the lines on the road just looked like dots. He had flames coming out of the side of that motorcycle.

[I actually know exactly were ZXD took this description from. A song known as "Hotrod Lincoln" by George Thoroughood. Your usual 'dude who loves high-speed car-rides impresses/scares-the-crap-out-of his friends and gets pulled over by the cops, etc, etc...' it's catchy though, I'll give it that. <.<]

"Wow, this baby sure is fast! Hey, I wonder what's on TV right now?"

[Pretty sure it's still the same frame of Dukes of Hazzard that you last saw when you woke up, considering the damn world is still 98% frozen. :P]

Bob's thoughts now focused on what would be on TV right now. If it hadn't been, he'd have noticed the blue speck in the distance behind him gradually growing. Obviously Crypha had taken her vitamins today.

[That's putting it lightly. He's moving over 100MPH, and she can still easily keep up... probably isn't even winded. O_O]

"Bob, guess whooooo...?" she called from behind him, a girlish giggle following.

He turned and faced her. Surely enough, she was right behind him. Bob was really gonna need to gun it. He pushed that throttle as far forwards as it would go. The motorcycle inched away from Crypha.

["110... 120... 130... 145 MPH!! Go bike, go!!" XD]

And then he saw the complex, a blazing structure nearing him at what seemed to be the speed of sound. Bob applied the brakes hard. The rubber from the those tires left a skid thirty feet long.

[Wait wait wait... he went at that speed and it took him that long to get from Polestar Preschool to the complex? I can understand that he didn't consider the sewers due to the adrenaline rush of trying to escape Crypha's Bobsicle obsession, but I doubt he'd need THAT much time at 100-150MPH to get there. >_>;]

And then he simply left the hat behind on his new motorcycle, put his fedorah back on and rushed inside. He had to escape Crypha's infatuation. So in he went, deeper and deeper, half of the time having no clue where he was going. Finally Bob came to rest in a bathroom in a locked stall.

[Can't forget that classy-ass fedora can you, Bob? I swear that thing's gonna get you into it so badly some day. <.<]

"Whew... finally."

And then, he felt a slight chill coming from a vent overhead.

"... Oh no. Oh nononono..."

["Oh yes... oh yesyesyes..." :D]

And out came Crypha.

[DUN DUN DUNN!!]

"Well Bob, I've caught you. Give me my reward! Hee hee..."

["Give me my damn Bobsicles already!" D:]

"NOOOOOOOO!!!!" he screamed, leaping over into the stall next to him.

He quickly ran out of that stall and back into the complex to hide.

[Bob just can't catch a break from her, can he? >.> I begin to pity him, it's starting to feel on stalker-ish levels from dear little Crypha here.]

Back on the Nomad...

Nole's face was lit only by the dim light of a monitor. Many images passed before him. DWGM searching for more power spots, Sandra, Everdred and her party, the General Lee frozen in mid-air, Bob running away from Crypha, Zac and his party going to search for the orbs... He blinked, almost producing an audible sound.

[Ohai sudden General Lee reference... o.o]

"Well well, quite a few interesting developments. I'll have to try to use some of this to my advantage..."

He began laughing maniacally, his cackle echoing throughout the dark room.

[Meh, I'm sorry... he's still a toolish prickface, no matter how scheming he wants to appear. :P]

Kyle volunteered to join Zac in his quest, glad to be able to leave the complex. Glenn decided to stay, however. He wanted to really test his limits in that training center. He couldn't surpass 2x gravity for fear of hurting Kyle.

[Well, Glenn... it looks like you're out of luck for training right now. :\]

-----

Meanwhile, DWGM couldn't believe his luck! By aimlessly walking around, he managed to find two more power spots without trying! He found Milky well on his way to Lillyput Steps, which he was just leaving from.

[Gee, who knew DWGM would have such a sudden burst of luck? Even half-braindead tools still get lucky once in a while. It's like the whole 'stopped-clock' theorem. >_>]

Not only do they seem to be bunched together, thought DWGM, but they're all in obvios places! So far they've been in valleys and alleys and accesible by cave, in one way or another!

[Yeah, well besides Magnet Hill being in the middle of Eagleland's biggest city... but other than that, you know? :P]

[Well, more double headers. In fact, a fair number of this next batch are double headers due to the varyingly smaller sizes of some of the individual posts. >.>]

Posted By The Losar (Member # 361) on :

Eventually, DWGM gave up on contacting the Nomad. Instead, he just placed one of the locating devices onto the Magnet Hill and left the alleyway.

[Looks like he really DID get a 'busy signal'. Shows how much the Nomad gives a crap about poor DWGM. :P]

He eventually made it to Dusty Dunes, having to swim across from Fourside since the bridge was unaccessable and (so DWGM thought) probably being watched.

[Damn, I suppose he is smart or paranoid enough to watch his back. ChaosGallentmon's death must've REALLY hit the poor tool hard. XD]

DWGM made his way along the shoreline. Along the way, he spotted something shining in the sand. He recalled seeing mining equipment in the desert earlier.

"Could that be gold?" asked DWGM aloud. He decided to check it out. Sure enough, half-buried in the sand, a seemingly valuable object was gleaming in the sun. It wasn't gold, DWGM noticed, but a small amber ball with a star in it. He picked it up and continued on his way.

[What's a good use of Dragonballs without the villians of the piece at least getting their hands on one of them for tension's sake? :P]

Posted By StarAngel (Member # 672) on :

[Well, Star finally returns after a hiatus of posts. :P]

Up in space, a group of fighters, nearly invisible, waited in a meteor field. They had been there for hours without action. Some pilots were already sleeping.

[I don't know how smart it would be to sleep at the cockpit of your star-fighters. Then again, I never piloted one, so natch. x.x]

Shine eyed her status. In about 30 minutes, her ship would run out of life-support resources, and everybody else's will probably end sooner. After Boris's ship had been frozen, they couldn't do anything without communication. Or so they thought.

[No wonder they've been out of it for a while. :P]

Shroud had set up a satellite beacon with only 1 channel, but it was enough. For endless hours upon hours they discussed their next move, and monitoring what the group down on Earth were doing. Shine sighed for the third time in her starfighter. It didn't happen often.

[Shine must generally be a lot more cheerful and open on normal terms. I guess Boris's status is really eating at her. >.>]

Suddenly, something in Shrine and Shroud snapped in unison, as if some memory between those two broke open from its cage. From their fighters, they could see each other through the windshield, which is what they did. "Get off the intercom for 5 minutes, everybody. I'm going to discuss a battle plan with Shroud." Shine said into her mouthpiece.

[Um... not to ruin your sibling-rivalry here guys, but WHY do you two need the channel alone? What kind of plan are you worried about them hearing? O_o]

Once everybody was off, Shine spoke again. "Shroud... I know you've been to pilot training with me. Do you remember something about gravity reversal?"

"Yeah, Shine... But what's gravity going to do about the Mother ship's current... situation?"

[Hmm... this might be going somewhere? Perhaps? :P]

"I don't know exactly, but perhaps... Their weapon is gravity-based? You know that gravity can be manipulated to change the speed and functions of matter. Nobody's tried it out, because it might've been dangerous..."

[Oh boy... this DOES sound pretty dangerous. It's 'Bad End' for sure if you get frozen by that thing.]

"So you're saying that we should try and preform the gravity reversal on the Mother ship?"

"It's work, if my theory's right."

[It's an IF, so either it will work out, or it'll go spectacularly wrong. XD]

"My sister was like this... I guess we can give it a try. But we'd be at the risk of freezing ourselves along the way."

[Shroud, what the hell are you on...? That didn't come out the way you think it did at the beginning. o.O]

"Better die trying than dieing."

"Wha-?"

"Never mind. Let's wait for the rest to get back on the intercom."

[Still don't get WHY you needed a totally private channel to discuss it... XP]

Shine and Shroud explained their plan about gravity reversal, and most accepted it. A handful were angry and afraid of the risk, but after a few catchy space quotes, they agreed. By that time, their life-support system was at about 6%, meaning they only had 10 minutes to do it.

[Well you doofuses need to do something, or your all decompress in the vaccum  and you don't want that, do you? :P]

They began the maneuver. As all the starfighters got into a circle with tractor beams crossing to the other side, the Nomad's weapons turned toward the group. Shine's hands started shaking. "Five... Four... Three...Two...One..."

[and... ACTION!! XD]

Her timing could not have been more accurate. Red beams sprouted out of the Nomad's cannons, and as they headed for the circle formation of the surviving starfighters, they shrunk into a tighter formation. As Shroud had expected, the large cannon aimed at the packed group, and fired.

[Well we goes nothing... >.>]

"Go go go!" Everybody seemed to yell at the same time. The feedback into the microphone was deafening, but everybody still did what they were supposed to do. As they spread out again, into the largest circle possible, the red beam blasted into the exact place where all the tractor beams had crossed.

[So they're using their own tractor beams to reverse gravity flow? O.o I have no idea if that could work in reality, but Sci-Fi folks... Sci-Fi. o.o;]

The effect was magnificent and beautiful to the eye. The blue-white of the tractor beams turned red, and seemed to be sucked into the red ball at the center. It grew larger and larger, turning a bright yellow at the same time. When it almost burned the fighters' positions, it launched right a the Mother ship, which had been on the other side of the fighter squadron.

[And caused the ship to promptly shrink down to the size of a mouse... Oh sorry, I'm thinking of my Misfits story for a second. XD]

The ship was enveloped by the yellow ball, and after a few moments, became active again. The intercom channels lighted up again on the interior of the ships, and they cheered in the different restored channels.

Boris's voice reached Shine's ears. "Alright, Shine, I'll wait for you."

"What are you talking about, Boris? We just unfroze you!"

["What?! Well... damn this is awkward..." ._.]

Boris's face appeared on her screen again, surprised. "Get everybody back to the ship, their life-support systems are incredibly low. I'll expect a full report when you get back. I am so confused."

[You and me both, Boris... :P]

Shine smiled. "Great, Boris. Guys! Let's go home."

Under heavy fire from the Nomad, the remaining fighters returned to the Mothership, to rejoice and to reversed the effects on Earth, once and for all.

Note: the gravitation reversal can't work on large mass, such as a planet. And I thought it'd be a good way to get back into the story, because I lost myself on the second page.

[Yeah, that's what friggin happens when you shy away from an active IF for more than 1-2 days at a time. You lose a LOT of headway. :P

Also, this is the return(sorta) of Boris as a character, but I think the author himself doesn't return yet, or at all for the reminder of the IF. Just a heads up.]

[Another double post, yay. :P]

DarkWereGrowlithmon had long left Winters. The Sanctuaries would obviously not be clumped together. Instead, he decided to return to the area where his enemies were first. It would be best to get the more difficult Sanctuaries first.

[Yeah. I tend to agree with getting the hardest stuff out of the way first. At least you don't feel too daunted afterwards.]

DWGM arived in Fourside via air travel and quickly landed.

Their eyes are probably turned upwards... for more reasons than one, he reasoned.

[Paranoid little tool, aren't you DWGM? :P]

Not hearing anything, DWGM began darting from building to building, in case they had a patrol team out. (Vastly overestimating us, no?)

[Yeah, but to be fair, Sandra in my other stories has elements of being paranoid about observing parties too. >.>]

He ran from the Monotoli Building to the Dept. Store, jumping over a fence behind it into an alley.

What's this? DWGM spotted Magnet Hill and examined it. Such power... who would have thought a Sanctuary would be found in a city like this!

[Ness did, that's for sure. I hope he doesn't get pissed off that you're openly stealing his gimmick. :P]

He contacted the Nomad.

[And promptly got a "call busy" signal. <.<]

Adure watched as the bridge crew divided into two sections, one supporting Nole and the other remaining loyal to the captain. Nothing had happened yet, but he could tell.

[Ever the observant one aren't you Adure... shame you were so observant about the hydraulic doors trapping you alone with a bunch of the Nomad's security earlier. :P]

He looked around. People were running around, effecting repairs, planning the next move and just generally being worried. Nobody was paying attention to him. He might not get another chance like this. He inhaled deeply and closed his eyes. He bgan concentrating.

[I do not know what is to come of this, but it sounds dramatic. :O]

It had been a while since he had changed his state of matter.

[His... state of... matter? Hubbawut? o.O]

He and his counterpart Jalus were the result of genetic experimentation by the Eagleland government.

[Who isn't an experiment of some government these days? <.<]

They were the only subjects to survive the greuling set of tests the doctors had put them through. When the Eagleland government declared genetic modification illegal in 1995, the professors were told to kill all test subjects under their control, but the head doctor, Dr. Maloy, said no.

[I wonder something... was it possible the scientists who harassed Paula about her powers during her childhood might have wanted her or at least said powers for this kind of project in particular, or just to sate their damn curiosity? :P]

The other scientists left, and an ESF team, headed by the legendary Kommando, raided The lab.

[Kommando, the legendary 'G.I. John Doe'. XD]

Dr. Maloy sacificed her life so that her creation could live. Though Jalus was long dead, Adure still had his unique set of abilities: Super Human agility and reaction, and the ability to alter his state of matter.

[Oh, you're a different type of shapeshifter. I wonder if Valius would've had a similar power to you or not. Had we gotten that far in Frozen, who knows what might have happened. o.O]

As he concentrated, Adures body melted into a liquid form. Adure slid off the chair he was in and made his way across the bridge, dodging feet as he went. He found a damaged control panel and went in. He wrapped himself around the circuitry.

[Welp, fried Adure, coming up! XD]

This aught to gum up to works... He thought as sparks beganm flying.

["Beganm" XD

I'm sorry I know I don't usually go after people's grammar or spelling much in this, but the idea of pronouncing "beganm" was too snicker worthy to ignore. :P]

"Maybe I should go help him? Or heal him?" suggested Glenn, looking in the direction Zac went.

[Being he's a Saiya-jin in a fragile emotional state, I'd say stay away from him until he stablizes. :P]

"Nah, he'll be alright. He's strong. He'll see through this," said Kyle. "Anyway, check out this training room! Hmm, maybe we can get some training in before another enemy comes?"

[Oh boy, now Kyle and Glenn are gonna yoink Zac's training room. I hope he doesn't kill them later for that. :P]

"You think they're going to send another monster?" asked Glenn. "I mean, no one's that repetitive."

[Glenn, you'd be surprised just how determined and blind-willed the Nomad can get. <.<]

"Oh, whatever, come on anyway."

They stepped into the room and the door closed behind them.

"Gravity setting?" asked the computer.

["And whatever you do, please don't bother with 1000x ENG. Your puny Earth bodies could never hope to handle a fraction of that much in your entire lifetimes." :P]

"Wow, a gravity setting!" said Glenn. "I've heard of them, but I've never actually used one! Um, how about just two times normal gravity. Just to get used to a different gravitational level, you know?"

[Wow. Someone who's actually taking it at a fairly MODERATE clip for once.

To be fair, Misfits also eases the characters who start using gravity into it, at least most of them. I think their first trials were like 1.75x ENG or something. >.>]

"Sounds good," said Kyle. "And we'll just fight each other."

"Right!" Glenn took out his DarkSaber and ignited it.

Kyle flinched. "Ah, maybe not. That thing will chop Excalabur in half!"

[It's a legendary holy sword Kyle. I know you're more dark-aligned, but legendary weapons are still that. A lightsaber is cool and all, but it's still far from a RARE weapon type, let along a LEGENDARY type. :P]

"How do you figure?" Glenn looked puzzled.

"The only thing Lightsabers don't go through is other Lightsabers, so I figure...?"

[Not always Kyle... I think you have a bit too much Star Wars on the brain. <.<]

"No, no, no. I mean, sure, it can cut through things, but only if I swing hard enough and the material is cut-able... Watch." Glenn banged the Darksaber on the floor. Nothing. "See? It's just very light and the blade won't break like my other one did."

[Yeah really, what the hell WAS that sword of his he broke on Pictos supposed to even be? Was it just some shoddy sword he got as a hand-me-down, or was it supposed to be far better than that and Pictos was just being his normal mostly-badass self? :P]

"Oh... okay." Kyle pulled out Excalabur. "Then computer... begin."

As the gravity in the room increased, Kyle fell over.

[Yeah... that... that tends to happen when you're facing gravity twice that of what you grew up in. XD]

"What's the matter?" asked Glenn, who managed to stand easily enough. "Come on, it's not that bad."

[Of all people, Glenn can withstand this so easily?! How the balls did he...?]

Kyle tried to get up again. Eventually, he managed to steady himself. "Geez, Glenn. Go easy on me while I get used to this, will ya?"

["You know, like any NORMAL person would?" :P]

Glenn frowned. "Aw, I wanted to go a little higher. Get some real training, you know?"

[I guess his ki/chi training from past times might have helped in a DBZ-like way to help him resist the gravity, but then again, as I stated in the last post. The strength of ki/chi in that case is directly connected to one's powerlevel. So does that mean jumpy Glenn is much stronger than Mr. Serious Kyle there?

Nah, probably just a fluke and they're roughly even. :P]

Kyle fell again.

"Okay, I'll go easy on you."

[LOL XD]

"...a humanoid Paladin with a Dark Sword."

"Won't that... contradict its power and make it weaker?" asked Jamar.

[You obviously don't know of Death Knights, Jamar. :P]

"Er... possibly, but then there's the possibility of excellence too, since one of the fighters that finished Pictos was a Dark human with a strange Holy sword. Then we have, to pit against the White Knight, a Sorcerer."

"Socerer? Explain."

"Well..." the scientist fumbled over an explaination. "Think of a person skilled in the elements and in the way of the sword."

[Basically, the Mage Knight from FF5 or someone like Terra or Celes? :P]

"And you made this by salvaging unneccesary items?" Jamar looked confused.

"Correct, sir."

Jamar scratched his head.

[Yeah, short post... I guess it was meant to be a lead-in for the next post. :P]

[Happy #100th post, btw... :D]

Kyle, as he did with Nebiroth, wanted very much to give this woman a chance.

But, every time his gaze landed on Brett's body, Kyle felt alot less compelled to trust Crypha.

[Again I must remind you, Crypha didn't actually kill Brett, though her presense made Brett attack her in such a way the side-effects where fatal for him. :P]

Glenn again felt helpless, but in a different way this time. Healing people was his specialty, but not a single rune he knew could resurrect the dead without... certain consequences. Dire consequences, to be precise.

[Yes. Not even Sandra (in this IF anyways) had any ability that could resurrect someone from 'true death', just the general 'RPG-style revive' abilities. Later versions of her did have a couple of abilities, one that could revive someone as a zombie, or a much more energy-draining full-resurrective ability. Again, that's not important for this IF though. >.>]

Glenn stood by Zac as a comfort perhaps. Kyle walked toward Bob and Crypha to introduse himself to her.

And then Kyle realized that, the group seemed to be splitting into sides. Some were comforting Zac (loosing a twin... ouch...) and some were accepting Crypha...

[Yes, as a note, this is where more split-off tangents begin to develop within the IF, not just the split opinion on Crypha's addition to the team, but the group will be splitting off a few times into different groups. It's still not gonna be an obscene 40 or so tangents like The Gathering feels like though. :P]

[NOTE: sorry for the LONG LONG wait here... life and such is BUSY BUSY BUSY. This is not abandoned, just in hiatus. I am aware we're still probably not even HALF WAY done with this yet. Frozen didn't have hundreds of posts like "The Gathering" had, but then again, Frozen wasn't going off in 40 different tangents at once. :P]

Posted by The Losar (Member # 361) on :

"I couldn't get close enough!" complained Glenn. "I wish I could have helped..."

[>.< once again past me ignores the fact Losarian's characters are in the vicinity, although I'm not sure if this time he specfically bore any annoyance at just me on this one. Things did kinda happen a little fast.]

He made himself useful otherwise by going to Zac and trying a dispell rune. Since he'd seen Sandra's spell, he'd been able to use the concept to formulate that new possibility of ending Stop. Glenn drew the rune and spoke it.

[LOL, way to be a copycat Glenn. :P j/k]

Nothing happened.

He shook his head and tried again. He concentrated and drew the rune to precision. Glenn then spoke the rune clearly and loudly. The rune floated to Zac and attached itself to his forehead.

[It's okay Glenn, it's not easy to do when you're under pressure. :P]

Sandra, at the same time, was trying to Dispell Brett. She was a bit surprised at how much more effort it took to do it than when she had used Dispell before. However, Brett and Zac were soon stirring, blinking, and breathing. Slowly at first, but they managed to reach seats, witht the help of the others.

[I have to assume Losar still kept to the whole "falling over backwards" sideeffect of being unfrozen here.]

"Did... we win?" asked Brett.

"Nope," said Jeff. "The one you had managed to contain combusted in the air with a blast of intense fire power. Literally. But a new warrior that arrived after your datainment and that amazing weapon... well, I guess 'escaped' wouldn't be the word. Quite a sturdy weapon, eh?" Plans were forming in Jeff's mind to locate that weapon and replicate its design into a smaller form that he could use. He smirked.

[Oh gods, not only did they keep Jeff's scientific jargon in effect, but to see Jeff smirk about getting his hands on the USA is a bit of an unsettling feeling, now that I think about it. o.o]

---

Meanwhile, Kyle met up with the people that were fighting in Fourside.

"Did you see that Digimon fly past here?" asked Omedramon.

["No, Omedramon, he vanished into the sands of time, forever..." @_@]

"You mean that dark thing?" said Kyle. "It's probably dead by now, if it went to the complex. Everyone else should have beaten it to a pulp."

[Nice assumption Kyle, to which you'd be right by now. XD]

Omedramon nodded and split back into its original forms. Then they all headed back for the complex.

"We've lost ChaosGallantmon..." The scientist sighed. "I told him..."

["...big monsters with two faces and, boys with BFG9000s and pink-haired girls give off major warning signs, but nnoooooooo... no one listens to me!" XD]

Another scientist walked up to the first. "It doesn't matter anymore. We have the coordinates of their base. And, better yet, they are clueless as to our knowlege of it. We can send creature after creature at them until-"

["-until we can finally deliver them our spectacular pizzas, only $1000 each!" XD]

"No. Every time we make one, it uses up our resources. Each one's stronger than the next, but that strength is not enough. I need to talk to the commander..."

[Serious note now: this is where we begin to establish something important: limited resources on the part of the bad guys. As much as this annoys some writers, it does give a sense of realism to the story too. The bad guys aren't invincible juggarnauts neither.]

---

Glenn volunteered to help with the interrogation. He had experience in that area. He tucked the Darksaber away, since the idea was not to kill the person.

[But no one says you can maim a few limbs of his, Glenn. >:D]

Ness also volunteered. It was somewhat breaking away from his straight-forward style, but how could he not participate, having been the designated leader for so long?

[Points to Losarian for giving Ness something to do. Unlike a lot of Tenguian-era IFs loaded with ACs, we still tried to some extent to give members of the chosen four things to do that don't just push them to the side. :P]

Meanwhile, Kyle left the complex to check up on the battle going on in Fourside.

[Oh yeah, I forgot for a moment he goes off to assist our Digimon-based friends. :o]

(Time for a revival. IF this dies, it won't be my fault. And don't let Liar and Neo's formula up there bother you either.)

[Again, IF was pretty competitive in this era. The Gathering might have been the first truly successful IF of it's time, but it certainly wasn't the last. :P]

Finally, the weapon was completed. Glenn jumped for joy and took off to look for Kyle.

[Like the little kid on Christmas morning ready to show off his gift. They grow up so fast. :,)]

---

ChaosGallantmon attempted to locate the other "rebels", but they had disappeared from where they were supposed to be.

[*Insert Nelson laugh*]

"Where are they!?" it said.

[Up your... you know what, nevermind. Forget I was here. :P]

The scientist's voice spoke up. "They have disappeared from the radar completely. They must be underground. In fact, they must all be underground, because I'm picking up noth... Wait, I have one. Near you."

[Lawl, guess who it is... I bet you can't guess! :P]

"He's probably going to the others. I'll follow him to find the rest."

"That doesn't sound too smart. They might take you out with their numbers alone, if he gets to them."

[Smart idea on the scientist's part actually. Unlike in DBZ, numbers actually MATTER in Frozen. :P]

ChaosGallantmon laughed. "Fool, you underestimate them all. They must have picked up my scent by now. They probably sensed me and went into hiding so they can regroup. It's best we at least know where they are..."

[Well on the flipside, CGM also made a good point as well to find go and find their base. :P]

---

Glenn went along, heading to Threed, when he suddenly realized that he had no idea where Kyle went. Of course they wouldn't have stayed where they were...

[Uh... DUH Glenn. ROFL.]

---

Ness and his party climbed out of the Threed sewer, reeking but otherwise alright. Zac offered to lead them to he and his brother's complex.

[Yay, complex time is nigh. :D]

---

ChaosGallantmon was stalking Glenn from a distance, when the scientist's voice came in a wisper. "I have some news."

["You can save 15000 Aeupa on your Grani-insurance with Geico!" XD]

"It's okay, I'm keeping my distance. Talk."

"Right, well other people have appeared on the radar. You are about to collide with them, or at least your subject is."

[Well it would seen stupid if Glenn collided with nothingness. <.<;]

"Good, because either this guy's paranoid, looking around like that, or he has no idea where he's going. I'll back off, then. You track them with the radar and give me their coordinates when they disappear again."

"...I didn't think we made you this smart."

[Eh, CGM has more good luck going for him at the moment though. :P]

---

Glenn had gotten to Threed okay. After a while, he saw Ness and the group.

"Thank goodness I found you guys! Where'd everyone else go?"

["We got all stinky in the sewers while you were off building your miracle weapon-a-ma-bobber!" :P]

Zac looked at Glenn, and then looked around, in the sky, and behind Glenn.

"Did you see anything? Or anyone?" he asked.

"No... Why?"

"We left," said Ness, "because they felt something coming."

[Orange Kid must be stalking around the house for Paula again. >_>;]

"It's still over there," said Zac.

"At our house?" asked James.

"I think he missed us and this fellow and is now searching your home for us," said Jeff.

"Well," said Zac, "let's keep going."

They treked to the complex and Zac opened it up. He had to "introduce" everyone to the computer before they could freely roam inside of it.

[Yeah, security measures to the complex including giving specfic people different levels of security and access to stuff. More examples of this coming later.]

It wasn't long before Glenn found Kyle.

"Guess what?"

"What?" said Kyle, not entirely interested.

[BURN? :O]

"I made a new weapon! I guess you could say that it came to me in a dream... Look!"

Glenn handed Kyle a short, metal shaft with black grips, a black button, and a very small knob near the top.

Kyle sighed. "Glenn, stabbing people with short, blunt objects is painful, but it really isn't all that effective."

[Kyle's obviously never seen Sandra handle blunt weapons of slim width before. She can stab holes into mountains with a stick like that. XD]

"No, no, no! That's just the hilt!" Glenn grabbed the hilt away from Kyle and pressed the button. A blade ignited from the hilt. It was a black blade that emitted a deep purple shadow.

"What the!? You built a lightsaber?"

"Lightsaber?"

"Yeah! It looks just like a lightsaber from Star Wars, except that those lightsabers are white instead of black..."

[ROFL. Lightsaber. Beam Sabre, Dark Blade, whatever the name might be. :P]

Glenn shook his head. "Well, I call it a Darksaber."

Just as Kyle was about to roll his eyes and make a comment, the complex shook and an alarm went off.

[DUN DUN DUNN. :O]

It wasn't long at all until before Glenn had most of the stuff he needed. A metal pipe, wires, buttons, grips...

[Yeah, I think Glenn does have some amount of techincal genius, with the scraps he's been using here. :o]

Now he only had two things left to get before he could fund a place to start. First, he found a car and opened the hood. After some messing around, he managed to alter the car battery with other part of the car to make a power cell. Then, the last thing needed to get was a precious jewel, gem, or such. Glenn walked into a jewelry store and gazed over the selection. He chose an nicely cut amethyst.

[Hmmm... I do wonder in honest curiosity why a precious gem was necessary here, looking back on it. o.o]

According to the broadcast, the art of making this weapon was very precise. Glenn followed the diagram carefully, shaping the parts, fitting them together, and drawing runes on every part to strengthen it.

[Yeah, So far it seems Glenn, GMOE & Sandra were the head magi of the IF. Oh and to clear up something. I mentioned Glenn and GMOE have shown off healing powers. I might as well confirm that Sandra also has healing powers of her own. She'll use them later in the IF in a couple of places.]

I'll show this to Kyle as soon as I'm done. Finally! A dependable weapon! thought Glenn, as he worked.

[Yeah, short post. :P]

Glenn again felt useless, not to mention still a bit ticked at having walked all the way to Onett only to get right back to where he started.

[Yeah, as I mentioned previously, I kinda made him do all that following Sandra around all over the place for nothing. Sorry again, about that. :\]

He didn't know anyone there except Zac a little, and Happy Bob, who Glenn worried about. It reminded him of that time he had a mental breakdown after following Reid Tucker's training. But Glenn made sure not to stare at Bob. He didn't know what might set him off and, rune magic or no rune magic, a knife to the throat is dangerous.

[Well in fairness, Bob might be more a threat to Glenn and probably Kyle than to any of the chosen four. I don't see most of the ACs having a 'Level' higher than 40-45 in Frozen, while the Chosen Four I always assume are at least 'Level' 99+ if the IF is after Earthbound chronologically. I've always imagined they ended up becoming as strong as possible for that period in time before fighting Giygas, and that depending on the nature of an IF, they could be even STRONGER than they could be in the game (well duh Cecil, you ninny). >.>

In extra notice of useless info: Sandra would be more of a 'Level' 130-135 at this point in RPG terms. Yes I do not kid. She's fought probably the longest out of all the ACs in the IF to date. She's had not one, not two, but THREE major adventures during her off-earth 10 years of time. She's done a lot more than the Chosen Four have in that respect, who've only been fighting baddies for a few months during EB.

Yeah, that's kinda how I look at it anyways. Now to stop hijacking Losar's post again. >.>]

However, it was this scene that was so beautiful that made Glenn think of his parents. Seeing a mother and father watch lovingly as their children are so happy.

[Yes, happy days my friend. :,)]

Glenn's parents were refugees from a distant planet called Corel. They were called Corellia. The planet was destroyed by an evil race 18 years ago, when Glenn's parents arrived. Glenn had been born a year later on Earth.

[Ah, so Glenn's not 100% human in the same respect as Earth humans are? :O]

As Glenn thought of his parents, a buzzing went off in his head, making him jump. Words scrolled across his eyes. Before Glenn knew what was happening, he was reading the words to himself.

Attantion all Corellia, the planet Corel is under attack. Information on a new weapon design will follow this announcement. Return to Corel immediatly following completion of weapon.

What? But that can't be...! Then Glenn realized. The message was sent from Corel. Corel is somewhat far away, it would take about 18 years for the transmission to get to Earth. His parent warned him of it.

[Yeah, like I mentioned in one of Speedy's posts about the Nomad's people having seen Digimon, it also works the other way. Signals from OTHER planets span outwards and can eventually reach Earth.]

Glenn was about to shrug it off, but when the designs for the weapon began to flash across his eyes, Glenn became interested. He took out a notepad and a pan and jotted info down.

[Yeah, this is a means to 'powerup' Glenn some for later. This won't be the first time some ACs get powerups and new moves either. >.>]

"This is amazing! And what great timing too! And here I thought I'd be a useless side person..."

[Oh don't feel that way Glenn... :(]

Bob looked from Sandra to Glenn. "What?"

"Nothing," said Glenn.

"You shouldn't talk to yourself. People might think you're insane," said Happy Bob the Homicidal Maniac. He turned back to Sandra, who was now explaining the situation the the Chosen Four.

[XD. X-freakin-D. Seriously, Bob's giving Glenn advice about not going insane? Oh the irony. XD]

Glenn only grinned and looked down at this complicated design he had just set to paper. He shoved the note pad into his pocket and stood up.

"Well," he said, "I'll see you guys later."

"Where are you going?" asked Zac. "The others should be at me and my brother's complex. Its-"
"No, no, I have something else to do."

["Corel is fear we be trouble! It send the powarup fro su to combat the evil!" (another Peter Chimaera reference for the less knowing. :P)]

Zac, Sandra, and Nebiroth looked confused. Ness, Paula, Jeff, and Poo looked even more confused.

"Others?" asked Ness.

"Oh, yeah. I almost forgot about them!" said Sandra. "I haven't really seen them though."

Glenn walked out of the house before the conversation continued. He had to find parts to this new weapon, even if he had to steal them. Hey, this is a world crisis. The people would understand, right?

[XD. Yeah, I doubt they're ever gonna actually know who stole them in particular. Even security cameras wouldn't likely work too well to identify you. :P]
