[Without delay, more of my large-paragraphed ass... >.>]
As for Sandra herself, she was beginning to wane from all the usage of her magic. She had to use Dispel 12 times, Vanish about 7, and even one Flare and two Breaks in the last 10 minutes. It had put a moderate drain on her magic, and she wasn't going to drain her friends of their magic.
["Break" is actually a petrification magic spell which is essentially another form of diamondization.]
[And yes, even Sandra can wear herself out, she's definately a far cry from what she can be in later stories despite her previous track record. Although there is the possibility that she's gone without rest as a whole since she returned to Earth from Santranus. :P]
Asking Brett and Zac for a place to sleep, they directed her to a small room that could hold two people, and she walked up and then plopped down in the bed and covered herself. She felt at ease, finally getting a chance to sleep since she returned home from Santranus...
[And with that, she's gone... :P]
Sandra soon found herself within a dream state, as her surroundings looked nothing like tangible places in the worlds of real. This was common for her though. Usually these types of dreams were ones where Sandra got the chance to check in on the status of her deceased friends Darren and Gaibon, and or also her summons as well. At times she might have also held meetings with the spiritual forms of her deceased friends and summons.
[Ah, the 'Dreamscape' concept... >.> Oh this one is a doozy. It's basically a kind of controlled dreaming that allows her to communicate with the spirits of dead friends and allies, where they can just chat, or give each Sandra some advanced warning on what's coming in the physical world. :P]
Sure enought, as she saw Hydra materialize in front of her, and then Freon, then Gaibon, Rowdain, Koronot, Frankenstein, Zapf Bat, Darren, Sarah and Death himself. "Welcome young one." Hydra greeted her. "Hello Hydra, how have you and the others been in the spirit world?" Koronot spoke in reply, "Not much. Heaven isn't much for a stone golem to understand."
[Just to make it clear, most of her summons are existing monsters from other games given cameos. >.>]
"Well, Sandra. We've been, as usual, keeping tabs on you." Freon replied afterwards, bowing to her like a gentleman, even though he lacked a lower body to hunch over with, so he just bowed his head kung-fu style. Rowdain spoke to her next, "Well, so you've finally arrived home, did you? It must be nice... except for the freezing of time and crap."
[Rowdain is so elegant isn't he? :P Gimme me a break, he's a skeletal knight <.<]
"Yeah. Your sister and her friends seem to be nice, much like you are when not royally angered." Death replied, remembering the pain she dealt him in the Castle Damiao battle 30 months ago. "Hey, thanks you all." Sandra replied, with a small ^_^ on her face.
[^_^ face number 3. I'm hoping this is the last one, but I might be wrong. x.x]
She then turned to Darren, Gaibon and Sarah. "And how have you three been doing?" "Darren's just been guarding part of our home in Heaven from any would be monsters that try to attack it. I'm okay, and think Heaven's been quite bored lately to tell you the truth. Sometimes I wish we were still all alive again. The living world WAS always an entertaining place, even back in the anicent days of Father's oppression." Sarah replied, looking at Darren first, and then back at Sandra with a more normal expression.
[References again to more of Sandra's backstory, concerning her second of three major adventures preceding Frozen.]
Gaibon replied next, "As usual, I miss Sloggy to death up here. I sure hope he's faring out well on Santranus. By the way, I noticed Nebiroth is helping you out. What happened to him? I thought he was evil?"
[Nebiroth was supposed to be evil-ish, until Kyle decided it was worth giving him a chance. :P]
"No, Nebiroth is misunderstood." said another voice, unknown to them all, but the tone sounded half familar to Sandra. Another being arrived. He reminded Sandra of Nebiroth, but he was wearing a red overcoat, had grayish-white skin, had a light-purple beard and hair, and lacked a crown on his head. Sandra recognized him, "A... Austorouto?"
[Yes, Austorouto, or "Asteroth" as he's usually more better known to fans in the Ghouls N' Goblins fandom. Same one that we saw speaking with Nebi earlier just after Smidgen's demise.]
"Yes, Sandra. I am Austorouto. I have come to let you know to tell Nebiroth I am doing fine in the afterlife, and that Sardius is suffering big time for his crimes against the many worlds he attacked." Hydra and Freon smirked, since they had once served Sardius under not so free circumstances and were forced to die fighting Sandra, trying to protect their oppessive master.
[Yes, his first time showing up to Sandra in her Dreamscape... you'll find out why in a second. :P]
"I have also come to give you an important gift. You tell Nebiroth I did this on my own opinion, and that you didn't force me to." Austorouto said, forming a wispy pink light in his hands, which he floated over to Sandra. "You're... giving yourself to me as a summon?! Why? I thought you wanted peace!" "I do, but Nebiroth is now with you. I want you to watch over him. He is the very last true denizen of the Phantom Zone, and you are the slayer of Sardius, so I believe you deserve this.
[Essentially, after seeing the 'light' in death, he must've assumed Sardius to be nothing but a despot, so I guess this is his way of thanking her for her role in stopping him.]
However, my summon is VERY costly on your magic reserve, and is to only be used when in a serious bind." "I understand, Austorouto. I'll tell Nebiroth not to worry about you, and that everything is fine." "Thank you, Sandra. For everything, for giving us all freedom again." Austorouto said, as his form faded into the mists of the afterlife. Soon after, Freon, Darren, Sarah, Gaibon, Rowdain, Koronot, Zapf Bat, Frankenstein and Death vanished. Hydra remained though. His expression looked important.
[Yes... Hydra... the same one that zapped ChaosGallentmon good earlier to assist Nebiroth and Sandra's save of Bob. He's actually one of the more powerful summons here due to the aforementioned Delta-Flare blast, which is a bit like Tritoch's Tri-Dazer in FF6. >.>]
"Sandra, I have an important tidbit of info you may want to know." "What is it?" she asked. "You spoke of a man known as Al Everdred. You said he was a good childhood friend. I believe from our point in the afterlife, we've found him." "Really?! Where is he? Is he alive?!" Sandra asked frantically. "Yes, he is alive. There is a desert country on Earth called Scaraba. He is somewhere there, among the people and the traders. However, like most of the Earth right now, he is also frozen in time, so he cannot help you now."
[Example of what I mean by them giving her information on what to do next in the living/physical world. Don't ask me how they have so much of a green light to give her this kind of information so easily from the higher-ups in the afterlife. I forget my reasons back in the day. :P]
"It doesn't matter, as long as I know where he is. Thank you Hydra." "You welcome, Sandra. But I must go now." Hydra said, as he began to be pulled back into the mists of the afterlife, leaving Sandra to dream blank dreams...
[Sandra will never have true peace in her dreams though at this rate. Too much damn activity. XD]
*********
However, up on the Starship Nomad, the crew and the captain were in a serious mess. ChaosGallentmon and DarkWarriorNacemon were destroyed, their THIRD and FOURTH of five miscellaneous weapons created to try and eliminate the life on the Earth that had resisted the Statis ray.
[I guess I wanted to make it clear what the score was between the bad guys and the good guys at the moment by giving numerics on their losses. :P]
DoomWereGrowlithmon and the damaged Ultra Statis Array were stuck in Winters, and the crew still had no true idea of WHO the people that were resisting the ray's effects and destroying their creations were.
[I wanted to pitch the angle that it's better for the Nomad and it's crew to find out the details on each of the ACs in order to adjust their strategy instead of sending monsters with generalized abilities after them all the time. <.<]
"Captain Jamar!" said a scientist, walking up to him, "We've got a new weapon ready to..."
[Yes, Cappy-boy finally has a real name: Jamar. :P]
"No... stop!" Jamar interrupted, "This is not working! Pictos failed, Smidgen failed, Gallentmon failed, DarkWarriorNacemon is dead as well, and we still have little information on the resistors of the statis ray! Has the ground team learned anything?"
[In the days of Frozen, I didn't only want to give depth to the heroes of the tale, but also the villains, so I thought of channeling more of a cool and calculated feel to Jamar instead of the earlier 'shoot scientists dead for bad news', implusive behavior he started with. :o]
"Yes, a little. They've learned a little and gotten visuals on the creature that destroyed Smidgen and fired at our ship earlier." the scientist said, putting down a small folder marked "Nebiroth"
"Nebiroth? That's this being's name?" asked Jamar. He looked at the pictures inside, taken by the ground team, a picture of Nebiroth firing his stacked beam at the Nomad, a picture of Nebiroth in the midst of his Body Laser attack, the same one that destroyed Smidgen, and lastly, one of him from inside the base during the first fight against ChaosGallentmon, shooting a barrage of his fire in an attempt to hit Chaos.
[The ground team has amazing dumcaps to get in THAT close to Nebi when he's in fury mode. @_@ Of course, I suppose it IS what they get paid for. :P]
"This creature. He's... he's not of this world! He can't be!!" Jamar was in disbelief at the sight of Nebiroth. "Find me any readings and more information you can on this "Nebiroth" being! He must be quite powerful to withstand Smidgen AND ChaosGallentmon."
[No crap, Jamar! :P]
"Well, we just did recently learn he's partially immume to the Ultra Statis Array. He only gets slown down by it, and not completely frozen." Jamar looked at the scientist a little blankly, but said, "Well, continue and find out more about him!" "Right, sir." the scientist replied and ran off.
[I'd make another tried and true joke about Jamar's literally trigger happy temper, but then I recall I was trying to defang that from him a little in this post. >.>;]
Jamar thought to himself He HAS to be of some totally different world. Argh... at this rate we might as well forget the rebels and concentrate on this Nebiroth and the humans down there with him, because they've definately gained worthiness as being stronger than the rebels if they can brave all of this..."
[Of course, I still had no idea who these 'rebels' were at the time of the post, but I made that assumption considering Jamar and the Nomad are dealing with ACs and not mere rebels anymore, not to mention a towering beast of an AC and his deceptively even-MORE powerful frenemy. :P]
(I just gave the captain a name so it'd be easier to tell who he is, and as for the summoned spirits and spirits of Darren, Sarah and Gaibon in Sandra's dreams, she tends to have a lot of dreams where she can talk to the spirits of her deceased friends and summons. They aren't ACs, just messengers more less. Sorry for confusing anyone if I have. -__-;)
