[More from me. :P]

Back in in the guest quarters, Sandra finally woke up with a refreshed look in her purple eyes. She yawned and looked about, seeing that Nebiroth wasn't in the room. "Must be eating again... guy's got quite the stomach. I need to find him though."
[God forbid he decides to start eating HUMANS. o.o]
She left the room, and made her way to the pantry, but along the way, she saw some of the group was crowded around a strange misty-thunderical creature. She at first thought it was a weapon, but she saw Bob hanging around with it as it hugged him and give him a few good jolts, and some of the others around her were also looking at the thing.
["thunderical" thing? Way to make up words, past-me. XD]
She then saw Zac walk by and asked, "Zac, where's Brett?" Zac was barely able to stay calm as he explained of Crypha and Brett's death attempting to stop her before Bob reformed her. "WHAT?! He's DEAD?!" she screamed in a near enraged growl, "Not him too!! Why is it everyone I hang around outside of my own true family seems to die soon after?! Darren, Gaibon, the teacher from the magic village! Am I some kind of curse?!"
[Without her big-ass backstory here to fill you in, basically she's lost friends from the other world she was sent to as a child, and she blames herself heavily for at least the first two's death. The teacher mentioned here though wasn't something she could control, but he was murdered obviously, hence her feelings.]
"You weren't there, you couldn't stop them." Zac tried to reassure her. "And I wasn't there for Darren, either! He and I were so close... so dang close!! Cursed Acryllis and his stupid soul stealing!" Sandra was forming small tears and stormed off to finish her search for Nebiroth. Zac almost thought she was just as sad and angry, then even he at Brett's death.
[Sandra's not exactly someone you want to get enraged at you, especially if you just killed people she likes or considere family. Crypha is damned lucky that Zac mentioned Brett's own actions to fight off Crypha were what got him killed, and not it being Crypha herself that killed him. She would at the very least be EXTREMELY distrusting of Crypha, if not outright tempted to destroy her, which would've probably not been too hard considering how powerful she really is. @_@]
"Who's she?" asked Virus from nearby, "Long story... if you guys wanna follow me and such, I'll explain it to you a little about what I've been through lately." Matt, Glenn and Virus decided they should follow their friend to the training area.
Sandra sure enough had found Nebiroth, and once again, Paula and Poo with him. They had been appearantly waiting for her. Duh! We're were gonna go and try to find Mr. Everdred. Stupid me! I almost forgot in my rest time. She formed a small ^_^; on her face, despite her recent hearings of Brett's death.
[I was wrong, the "^_^" face keeps appearing where I least expect it. ._.]
"Sorry about not being there to help you guys out... but..." "We didn't leave either. Ness and Jeff have also been here the whole time, helping Nebiroth in watching the complex. He wonders about their being something strange happening soon." Paula said to her sister and interupting.
[No one in previous posts specfically used any of the chosen four during the Crypha battle, so I made it that they also stayed behind to help Nebi guard Sandra and the complex from enemy attack.]
"Well, you guys heard about Brett, right?" "Sadly, we just heard also. He was very noble to try to do what he did. It just seem quite wasteful after finding out Bob turned his target to our side though. I feel like a real heel for not being there." Poo replied. "Probably nothing like I do, Poo." she replied back, "You don't know how many friends I believe have died because they even knew me. I know these things aren't my direct enemies, but it just seems whomever out of my direct family I'm with dies." she said, still with tears.
[Again more of her moping about people dying of which she couldn't really control. Gaibon's death was the only one she was even there to witness out of the four deaths among her friends, and that was him saving their lives instead. :P]
"I sometimes wonder the same thing for myself." Paula replied, feeling for her sister, "But do you think we're ready to go find Mr. Everdred?" "Yes, we're finally ready." "Rrrr.." Nebiroth suddenly growled. "What's wrong?" asked Poo. "Nebiroth must've had fly land on him, that all." "Oh." "It fine now."
[How the frack can Nebi even NOTICE a fly touching him, considering only his face seems to feel anything? :P]
With that, the group made their way by, asking Bob and Crypha to rely a message to Zac and anyone else wondering where they were. Soon, they had made it outside of the complex, and then down to the sewer manhole on the desolate streets of Threed. They had a small idea of what to do: use the sewers to reach Twoson. Sandra and Paula wanted to see their parents again for the moment. Sandra also had a strange request in mind for her mother...
[I honestly forgot what this 'request' Sandra had of Penelope at this point. It might be mentioned later in the if but I don't know for sure. >.>]
Little did they noticed the hiding ground team, snarling at the fact they were unable to find a way into the complex before the rest of the group returned. "Darn it! I thought Crypha kept them busy, but it seems she's joined them now!" "Well, Nole said she WAS incomplete, so she may have felt abused or neglected or something and turned sides"
[Hey don't fret, ground team, you have plenty of time to find some means to get in.... in 20 years. :P]
"Quiet! We may not be able to get into the complex, but I was able to send some memory readers into the complex. Whatever or whoever they attach to will have their recent 5 years of their memories read to us and accessible. If we can't learn about them from watching their present actions, we'll look into their memories. They can't find the scanners either because they are as small and resemblant to flies, can camoflauge when in flight, and are completely cloaked when attached and perched. They're also remote controlled, so once we study enough of one of their memories, we can go right on to another. Also, when in flight they can serve as micro-cams!"
[Well, I guess I shouldn't be surprised the Nomad would have some kind of technology beyond that of Earth's aside from the ship and the USA. The memory scanners are a means to both have the Nomad gather intelligence on the ACs, and even more so an excuse to give LOTS and LOTS of exposition on whomever they managed to land on and extract memories of. ZXD and I abuse the hell out of this later, and some of the other writers have their own means of using them. :P]
In other words, Nebiroth hadn't felt a fly on his back, it was actually one of the couple dozen deployed Memory scanning devices released by the ground team as a backup plan to find out more about the resistors for the final weapon. Nebiroth trudges through the sewers with Poo, Paula and Sandra for Polestar, unaware the ground team can read his recent 5 years of memories whenever they wanted to for the time...
[5 years was a self-imposed limit, since I didn't want them being a total diablous ex machina (demon in the machine), and giving the Nomad every possible memory of that person (although I think a couple of writers don't remember or ignore the 5-year limitation). <.<]
(yes, those four are splitting off for a while. Hopefully they won't be away from the main group for too long.)
[Obviously, I has my plans of action at this point. More tangents are forming.]

Zac was wary of Crypha. Although his outward guise showed an acceptance and welcoming of her, his inner emotions were a different story. He still was angry over his brother's death. He too, through the emotional pain, saw the lines drawing, some supporting him and comforting him, others siding with Crypha and sympathizing for her and her circumstances.
[Well, kudos for him at least TRYING to not just reject Crypha right off the bat. I'm sure he doesn't have much good faith in her though, regardless of the fact. <.<]
"It's not fair."
Zac's words were picked up by Virus and Glenn.
"What's not fair?" Glenn put a hand on Zac's shoulder.
"This whole situation. Why did he..." Zac trailed off at the end; he was still distraught. He turned to walk away, but accidentally kicked something soft. He looked down to see Brett. The sight of his lifeless body, with the dried blood from the energy slicing and cutting his body as he had... Zac couldn't take it anymore. He ran to his room, stumbling over his brother's body as he went. Virus and Matt followed after him.
[Being an only child, I can only imagine the feeling of losing a sibling. I've lost grandparents and a handful of pets, but I can never say I had a real brother or sister. ._.]
"This sucks," Glenn walked over to the others, and spoke in a whisper to Kyle.
"What do you mean?" Glenn nodded his head in the direction Zac headed. "Oh, that. Yeah, that does. I have a question for you: Do you notice that we're starting to split?"
"Now that you mention it... yeah. But what does that have to do with Zac?"
"Some of us are sympathizing with Zac, while other with Crypha. I don't know how to deal with this."
[Yeah, even DrAndonuts was aware of the gradual splintering of tangents in the IF. :P]
--- In Zac's room ---
"It's not fair!" Zac shouted, starting to cry. "It's just not fair!" He shoved his face into his pillow, muffling his sobs. Virus and Matt knocked gently on the door and entered.
"Zac, are you okay?" Matt asked.
"No, not really," Zac said, still sobbing slightly.
"I know you hurt," Virus said. "But this, I don't think, is how you're brother would-"
"How would know what my brother would want or think?!" Zac sat up and faced Virus, snapped suddenly at his one friend. "I'm like him in every way! I'm his twin brother! I think-" Suddenly, he stopped. A dull, expressionless face appeared. "What does it matter? It's all useless..."
[Sigh... it's too serious a situation to make a joke here. x.x]
"Don't say that," Matt said. "There might be a way to get him back."
"How?" Zac glared at his other friend. Something had come over Zac.
"I don't know. There just might be a way." He leaned over and whispered something to Virus. Virus nodded and the two said they'd come back once Zac calmed down.
"If you want to tell the others where I am, I'm heading to the training part of the complex." Zac brushed past Matt and Virus, opened his room door and slammed it on his way out.
[Oooooh boy... this is gonna be bad for the training room, isn't it? An angry, emotional Saiyan, even if not enraged with bloodlust, is still a force to be reckoned with. ._.]

Kyle, as he did with Nebiroth, wanted very much to give this woman a chance.
But, every time his gaze landed on Brett's body, Kyle felt alot less compelled to trust Crypha.
[Again I must remind you, Crypha didn't actually kill Brett, though her presense made Brett attack her in such a way the side-effects where fatal for him. :P]
Glenn again felt helpless, but in a different way this time. Healing people was his specialty, but not a single rune he knew could resurrect the dead without... certain consequences. Dire consequences, to be precise.
[Yes. Not even Sandra (in this IF anyways) had any ability that could resurrect someone from 'true death', just the general 'RPG-style revive' abilities. Later versions of her did have a couple of abilities, one that could revive someone as a zombie, or a much more energy-draining full-resurrective ability. Again, that's not important for this IF though. >.>]
Glenn stood by Zac as a comfort perhaps. Kyle walked toward Bob and Crypha to introduse himself to her.
And then Kyle realized that, the group seemed to be splitting into sides. Some were comforting Zac (loosing a twin... ouch...) and some were accepting Crypha...
[Yes, as a note, this is where more split-off tangents begin to develop within the IF, not just the split opinion on Crypha's addition to the team, but the group will be splitting off a few times into different groups. It's still not gonna be an obscene 40 or so tangents like The Gathering feels like though. :P]

The ship drew ever closer. Aboard the Nomad, Jamar was in a panic.
"Eric?! What are we going to do!?"
[Eric and Nole are the only two NAMED scientists here, and being named, Eric will have a lot more roles despite not really being AC status.]
The scientist sat down and puzzled. He sipped his jynnan tonnyx slowly. The cold, refreshing taste jogged his memory. In his mind's eye, he saw a grin wipe across his face.
[Okay, here's the next 'running gag' of ZXD's posts: the jynnan tonnyx [or simply, 'gin tonic']. And yes, ZXD is/was a fan of the Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, something I admit I've never looked into personally, even today. :P]
"Sir, I just thought of something. Let's use the MDC!"
Jamar looked a little shocked and a little nervous.
"The Mass Destruction Cannon? Isn't that a bit much? What could they possibly have that could outpower us?"
[The name of that weapon alone sounds like someone has to be compensating for something. I bet you it's Nole who built it, or did most of the work. :P]
Eric looked at him, a grim look on his face.
"That's just it sir. We don't know WHAT they could have that could outpower us. Records indicate that even though this planet's space travel age is in its infant years, their WAR advancements have been around since the beginning of time."
[The man makes a strong point about our war technology. >.>]
Jamar thought it over, then pressed a button on his console.
"Bridge."
"Yes captain?"
"Prepare the Mass Destruction Cannon. Set coordinates for the approaching ship."
"... Aye aye, captain. You heard him men. Full power to the MDC."
[DUN DUN DUNN? o.o]
Aboard the approaching ship, they noticed something odd happening on the exterior of the Nomad. Something was lighting up. It finally hit them.
"Holy [explective]! It's a weapon of some sort!" shouted Dave.
[Hm... I'll cut in and state I'm not sure if Dave, Johnny or any of their Digimon would actually have in their characters to swear like this. I do know I'd be giving ZXD a good grumble if he made Sandra swear like that (as it's not in her character to do so). >_>]
"WHAT!? NO [explective]ING WAY!! THAT'S... ENORMOUS!!"
Indeed it was, the weapon's surface area over 600 yards. And it was powering up to attack. They took evasive measures, but it was too late. They moved enough to avoid direct contact, but the weapon still hit them.
[Well... I do admit, the sentiments aren't in question. That thing is a massive weapon. x.x]
Several ripping explosions tore through space, hitting the east side of the ship. The hull was pierced and the thrusters were damaged. They could no longer move. A transmission sparked to life in the quiet ship.
"Greetings, crew of the attacking ship. I am Jamar, captain of the Nomad. I am requesting your cooperation. If you surrender, you will not be killed."
["Not until you give me bad news, of which I will shoot you on sight." :P]
"Oh shut up! We'll never give up to you!"
"... very well then. Have it your way. Say goodbye!"
The weapon began to slowly light up again. They were doomed. Wait, no... Dave had a sudden burst of genius.
"Guys, head for the west side. The fifth door on the left. Behind it is the teleporter we got here through. Punch in coordinates x124 y249. I'll be there momentarily!"
[x124 y249... I'm not sure if those are supposed to be coordinates on Earthbound's techincal map (for the ROM hackers in the PK Hack community), or it it's just some randomly decided number. I do know ZXD has had some practice in PK Hacking. :P]
They nodded and rushed out the west door. They quickly came upon the warp bay and rushed inside. Johnny entered the code, and waited for Dave. Dave was attempting to set the reflectors. But they were damaged, resulting in them being stuck in a bad position. One which would destroy the teleporters once the MDC discharged.
Dave couldn't get the system working. Try as he might, it appeared there was no chance of saving the warp bay. So he ran for it. The weapon was getting ready to fire. And suddenly, there were two flashes in space.
One of them was the MDC, destroying the warp bay. The other occured a split second earlier, in which Dave and the others escaped. The hole in the ship was sealed instantly by an auto-repair shield.
[As if it matters, considering you guys just jumped ship anyways. >.>]
Aboard the Nomad, Jamar was smiling.
"Sir, scanners indicate the ship is devoid of life."
"Excellent, so we got them?"
"Well... erm... that is to say..."
"Yes?"
"... no."
Jamar's face turned red with fury. His fist connected with the arm of his swivel chair.
[Look out Eric, you might not be as much a mauve shirt as you thought. @_@]
"WELL THEN WHY IS THE SHIP DEVOID OF LIFE?!"
"You see sir," Eric struggled nervously. "Sensors also indicate traces of warp particles in the area of the blast impact 2 miliseconds before discharge."
"AUGH! THEY ESCAPED!"
"Sir, might I suggest an analyzation of the technology aboard the ship? We COULD pull it in and dock it."
"... REALLY now... Alright, let's bring her in. Dock her at Quadrant 6. I want to see this myself..."
[Very smart save there Eric. That was too close. o.O]
-----
Back on the ground, Bob was asking Crypha some questions.
"So, what's it like on that ship?"
"Well... it had a lot of shiny things."
[Crypha must have a short attention span. :P]
Bob got a large bead of sweat on his forehead.
"Can't you tell us... anything else?"
"Well, yes. There was this nice team of gentlemen who let me out of my case. Heard them mumbling about some Adure guy boarding the ship."
[Oh, you mean as you were freezing them into shattered pieces of ice? :P]
"Oh REALLY?" asked GMOE. "Sounds like there's someone up there trying to help us other than Dave and the others."
"We're... uh... not up there anymore." said Johnny, dusting himself off.
[Ohai thar Johnny, have fun getting your butt kicked up in space? XD]
"What happened guys?" questioned Zac.
"Some Jamar guy," Dave said, rather annoyedly, "was attacking us. Said he was Captain of the Nomad."
"Ugh, there goes our space travel..." groaned Bob.
"Well," piped Crypha, "at least we've still got each other!"
[Lawl. Obviously she's not yet fully informed as to the stakes of this conflict between her creators and her new 'friends'. :P]
She stretched her arms out in Bob's direction. He screamed and started running.
"Aww, all I want is a hug! Come back here!"
Bob was running in the direction of the complex. The rest followed, seeing no other option at the present time.
[BTW, do expect to see a LOT, and I mean a LOT of this kind of slapstick between Bob and Crypha. It goes on for quite a long time, and I'm sure you'll figure out why it is long before the big reveal. @__@]
----
Aboard the Nomad, the ship was docked and ready. Jamar, Eric and a few others had arrived at Quadrant 6, seeing the open airlock.
"So," Jamar questioned. "Am I to assume that the ship is ready for boarding?"
"Aye sir, it's ready." confirmed the nearest technician.
[Oh, I see, the auto-repair was supposed to work in the baddies' favor, eh ZXD? ;P]
"Good, then shall we climb aboard, Eric?"
"Oh, I do believe so."
They moved through the airlock and into the ship. It was more spacious than they expected, though nowhere near as massive or spacious as the Nomad. Jamar sat down in the captain's chair.
"Hmm, comfortable."
[Jamar has an obsession with being comfortable in his seat, as will be made more prominent later on. XD]
"Yes sir," commented Eric. "It would appear this chair offers optimal lumbar support, as well as tough animal hide covering."
"Salvage it. I do need a new chair."
"Right, salvage Captain's chair. Check."
[Priorities, priorities, cappy-boy. :P]
They continued further into the ship. Jamar discovered the ship's kitchen. He opened the refrigerator, finding it to be packed full of several culinary cuties.
"Looks like some of this stuff might taste good."
"Indeed. Shall I-"
"Yes, salvage it."
[Did you even have to ask him, Eric? <.<]
They continued through the ship, salvaging several more items. Then they came to the war room. Jamar had a trail of drool dripping off his chin.
"Amaaaazing... look at these weapons!"
"Indeed! Thermonuclear detonators, high-powered piercing lasers..."
"Have this entire stock salvaged. Next time we'll be ready for our attackers..."
[Oh crapnuggets... ZXD definately bungled up Penguin's (and maybe Speedy's) plans here and only gave our villains more firepower to retailiate with. Way to go guys. :P]
(The MDC is a short range outer space combat weapon, sending a line of ripping explosions through space. It cannot pierce the atmospheres of planets, as any medium to travel through would cause it to dissipate.)
[Which is fortunate, else it would be a diabolus ex machina. ._o]

That was too close. o.O]

[Which is fortunate, else it would be a diabolus ex machina. ._o]
