--- On the Nomad ---

The captain was bored. Swiveling in his chair, he pondered the recent events.

[Just to cut in, I don't think 'bored' is the best word to describe this, but that's just me. :o]

First, the few unfrozen individuals on the surface hindered his conquest of the planet for its resources. Next, two or three ships came and attacked him and his crew. [Boris, Shine/Shroud, Adure's attacks] Followed by some huge cannon-like beam from the surface flying at them, making it seem that the few people made a giant laser gun. [The combined attack after Pictos' death that almost destroyed the ship.] Then, Smidgen's destruction at the hands of a new being on the planet, who then was charged with shooting at Nomad. Then ChaosGallantmon's capture.

"What am I doing wrong?!" the captain shouted. "This should have been done a long time ago! It should've been simple!" Then, an idea struck him. It seemed so simple that it would've been the last thing he'd thought of. "Get a scientist up here, now!"

["I need someone to shoot!" :P]

As soon as a scientist was on the bridge, the captain told him the plan.

[And then much rejoicing was had.]

"That should've been one of the first things to do, shouldn't have?" the scientist shook his head.

"Yes, it should've. No matter, send the USA to ChaosGallantmon. He can make good use of it."

[You're going to... drop an entire country on their heads? If so, that would actually be an effective move... @_@]

--- At the complex ---

The scientist relayed a communication to ChaosGallantmon and the monster chuckled.

"This will be so easy," he replied as he grew stronger and more repaired. As soon as the two were done mapping out a strategy, ChaosGallantmon was back to full. At that same moment, Zac, Glenn, and Ness entered the room.

[Chaos is really to tear up the complex in more than one way. :D]

--- Outside the interrogation room ---

"Nebiroth, if you need something to eat, go to our pantry. It's got a lot of food there for you, and I mean, a LOT," Brett said. He told Nebiroth how to get there and as soon as Brett was done, the hungry demon sped off as fast as he could.

Just then, the room behind the watchers shattered into millions of pieces of debris. Zac, Glenn, and Ness shielded themselves from the explosion.

[Good reflexes you three. :P]

"You are all finished!" ChaosGallantmon shouted. Pulling out a bazooka-like gun, he placed it on his shoulder. Looking through the scope, he chose his target. "Ultra Stasis Array (note: that's what USA stands for)!"

[Yeah, the above annotation was a joke obviously. :P
Also, this introduces us to the general name for the time-beam, in all forms: "Stasis Array". The USA is a specialized model for ground-teams for resistance like the AC kind. :P]

A red glow emitted from the end of the cannon. The Ultra Stasis Array fired and struck its target: Brett. Thinking the gun was energy-based, he figured he could block the beam. Instead, he found himself now frozen in time like the rest of the planet, in a blocking stance.

[NNNNNNNNOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO- Oh wait, he's not dead... :P]

Zac dusted the debris off of himself and helped Glenn and Ness to their feet. As soon as he finished, he saw the beam strike his brother. The dust cleared and a now-frozen Brett emerged.

"Brett, no!" Zac cried, running towards his twin.

[Zac cares for his bro you know!]

"Zac look out!" Glenn shouted, but too late. ChaosGallantmon struck Zac from behind with the USA. Another moment later, Zac was stilled in a running position.

[Ouch, bad move Zac. :( Two of our heavy hitters are already down for the count. :o]

"Who's next?" ChaosGallantmon sneered, readying the Ultra Stasis Array.

["Not I." said the Cecil. :P]

(Cecil, you can stil Dispel the effects, but it'll take a bit more effort from Sandra since the stasis effect is concentrated to stop the group. Also [to everyone], the device itself isn't easily broken.)

[Yeah, I suppose in theory it makes some sense that it's a bit harder to disperse. After all, there wasn't a ChouDispel technique in Sandra's arsenal of spells at that time, and I didn't want to just 'make it up on the spot' since that would be employing true "AC god mode", so I winged with it. :P]

  1. First off: the captain was probably one of my favorite non-AC characters to write for, just because I was making him all crazy/insane from one moment to the next xD. Side note: when I had the captain shoot that ensign/scientist (can't remember at the moment and don't feel like looking heh), I felt giddy as that's definitely something I'd never have my ACs do (at least my good ones :D).

About the USA: Yes, I purposefully used that acronym one: I couldn't think of anything better, so I borrowed our country's initials and elaborated off there; and two: I also wanted to see reactions such as what Cecil posted in his commentary (noo, not a WHOLE COUNTRY xD).

I figured that to help combat the ACs, it would only make sense that the Nomad and its crew had a portable, concentrated cannon to take in case they found resistance somewhere, attempting to balance out the power scale a little. And in choosing to freeze my two ACs, I always felt it was good writing to occasionally show weakness in an otherwise super-strong character. It helped to ground them a TINY bit (by tiny, I refer to the fact that a flea would be taller than how much that would ground them xD). Eventually (if this annotation continues), you'll see that from me first hand (sorta... maybe. It's been so long heh).
